Sky Arts are showing a new documentary tonight called "Discovering Pulp", before showing "Pulp Live" afterwards, if anyone fancies tuning in. I've not come across the documentary before so I assume it's a new one, made quite recently.

Yup, they've showed that one a couple of times before. Closest I'll get to seeing them live!

Was it any good? Given the lack of fanfare about it, I'm assuming there was no involvement from the band in terms of new interviews and that it was just talking heads/music journos telling the Pulp story ?

Various people getting various facts wrong in chronological order, in a nutshell. One actually filled me with rage as it went along.

Aw really? I set it up to record so I've not watched it yet. Was looking forward to that, too. Ahh well.

I'm being harsh I suppose, it's really a basic timeline from 78 to 2012 with a few opinions here and there and some speculation on why Russell left. Some really nice photos too.

It was furiously inaccurate & seemed it was only a handful of music journos self indulging themselves by spouting off about what was basically their own regurgitated bullshit. It's only redeeming feature was that I could unashamedly get very grumpy about it & shout at the TV like and old man.

Yeah you're right! Why am I even trying to find good things to say about it?!

It was tits, wasn't it? So half-arsed and rushed. Worse than that "Story of Common People" one from a while back, though that at least featured the group themselves. I can only apologise for drawing everyone's attention to "Discovering Pulp", seeing as it was such a let down aww
