Such an awful incident last night. Hope anyone from here or family/friends are ok.
Thought you would like to know that everyone out there involved in the film is ok.
This NME article talks about the second showing at SXSW, how there is quite a bit of fan footage in the film and that an American-based fan was in the audience there!
I think that the responsibility of making a film about a band with so much history and such a following and then intertwine it with people from Sheffield then to aim it at both Pulp fans and non Pulp fans worldwide is a big one.

See, I don't like the angle they're taking with it. I'd much prefer a film of the concert.

I think the film will be completely ace, I love Florian's previous film (Love Story) and if you watch that you totally see why Pulp would choose him. It's one of those films that you wanna tell someone else about immediately.
BUT as a Pulp person i completely get what you're saying, the live is the most important thing to us and I hope they decide to release the whole footage at some point.
I hope there's a good chunk of interview time with the band too though. I could probably listen to Jarvis read the phonebook and be happy. I'm thinking since it was premiered at an American Festival there's a decent chance there will be an American region DVD release?? (possibly even some select indie theaters will release it, won't hold my breath)

I spoke with Florian and the producers about the live footage and they definitely wanted it to be a 'Film' rather than a gig. They wanted people who would not be interested in straight concert footage to get something out of it as well as fans. In fact it's probably more for the non fan. It was never going to be a straight live gig recording.
(Is anyone else getting a major Flight of the Conchords vibe from it, though?! Not just because of the NZ accent but also the line 'fan of the band'. Made me laugh).
