I just hope any DVD release contains an extra disc of the whole Sheffield show and (very wishful thinking) edited bits from The Day That Never Happened gig á la "The Lost Tape" on The Beat Is The Law. Although, I wouldn't be completely surprised if they show a snippet of the 1988 show/event during the main film as the reference to it in Pulp's tweet/press release when announcing the concert originally and it being mentioned in the blurb for the SXSW premiere suggests its use as a framing device/the story coming full circle etc.

I still have a preference for the title 'And then we went for rides....' I suppose this wouldn't happen because of the Russell connection? Do we know if Russell has any involvement in the film at all?
I agree. The Pulp story ends* just where it began - Sheffield - so it goes full circle. That's why I like it. Also it contains the word Sex, which is kind of cool and very relevant to Pulp (esp Jarvis), of course.
That URL just links to the Facebook page which, incidentally has changed it's name back to 'Pulp' don't they think Pulp the film will be confused with erm... 'Pulp', the film? Or do you think that is their intention?
There is already a pulp.com (the clothes thing). I just thought I'd link to it because new bits and bobs are being added and because it's the official film page so people might like to pop over to have a look.

May be it links to the facebook page until a more official site is set up. I think it safe to say PULP have always been in need of some better PR.
I say me it's been set up by the makers if the film - let's get it straight guys... Whatever this "film" is - to a non Pulpy person... it's a live DVD of a band... No amount of PR is going to change that.
Surely the whole premise of the film is that it's not about the band. I was nervous about he Big Melt when I read about it beforehand, the write-ups made it sound like a couple of recycled Pulp songs and a bunch of Jarvis' mates along for the ride, but obviously that was far from the case in the end.
Steve Lamacq is doing some stuff from SXSW next week on Radio 6 and he said last Friday he was going to be talking to Jarvis out there about what he's doing there.

Well, isn't it meant to be about both - Sheff and Pulp, ever intertwining? Sounds like it's a fairly unique and original film anyway, quite intriguing.
More importantly, are baritalia.activeboard.com people gonna get invites to a Sheff/London premiere? We deserve it as much as the residents of Broomhill, surely..

Eamonn, I couldn't have put it better myself. We DESERVE it!! Ideally, we'd get tickets to 2 premieres, one in Sheff and one in London and a free coach ride between the two with all members of the band!
