Very tricky.

I was at a posh boxing event last night (if that isn't a contradiction in terms) and they had a charity auction. They auctioned off loads of stuff including some top footballers' shirts, which were neatly framed up ready to hang on a wall. I don't think I'd fancy doing this if I had your Jarvis shirt, 'cos that would mean it's hidden away behind glass, which wouldn't feel right, but I suppose it's an option in terms of preserving it.

The only other solution would be to get a good-looking man to model it round the house for you, full time. Jarvis has the year off, I hear. He's probably terribly bored with nothing to do , why not ask him to oblige! Ha-ha!

I was reading this daft 1995 article the other day on Acrylic Afternoons, presumably because I was meant to be working. Jarvis is mock-seriously considering the questions about various marketing opportunities based on the Pulp brand. Anway, there's a bit down near the bottom under the heading "The Clothing Label" where he demands all items be available only in his size - presumably revenge for never being able to find anything normally.

Excellent! And judging by his brand name I'd fit in quite well. :)

Very funny interview, especially the bit about big pants.

It fits me which is ace but I have no idea what to do with it!

Well do you really have to know, what to do with it? You have it, you can cuddle it (you know, Jarvis want's to be your teddybear). Or buy a mannequin and decorate it with the shirt an big glasses.

to Panther:

What is your native tongue, maidmarian, if you don't mind me asking?

No, I don't mind, I'm german. Since you wrote me the meaning of "crickey" I think about a german translation of it. Maybe "Ach du liebe Güte", but that's not not my final choice.

Oh, German, maidmarian. I wish I could speak German. I have hardly any. It's lucky your English is top-notch! (This means very good). We'll keep teaching you our funny expressions, then.

I did German in my GCSE's and got an A but I couldn't hold a conversation now which is a shame.

Although I can say Wie geht's Maidmarian?! Ich heiße Jarvgirl, ich bin dreiunddreißig und ich liebe Pulp! smile

I love this interview with Jarvis in Germany, where he does throw in a few German expressions:

I've not clicked on it but I'm assuming the phrases are:

ich Möchte schlaffen

for him to have a look in my kopf

and Fussball?!!

its an excellent interview, I love when he breaks into song "we did it our way" :)

I know, it's totally hysterical and very memorable, even the bits about the smell of the rubbish! Ha-ha!.

It is quintessential young Jarvis when he is being warm and friendly and happy.

Oh girls, you are so nice!!!!! What a nice way, to wake up in the morning, check Emails and read all these lovely contributions.

So, you are looking for long german words? Look at this page. When I read this, I'm so happy, that I don't have to learn german.

www.gutefrage.net/frage/wie-ist-das-laengste-deutsche-wort-ohne-gedankenstriche

I really love this interview with Jarvis in Germany but I think, the journalist has a verry bät dschörman äkzent. I'm so sorry for you, that you don't have mutated vowels.

This following interview is one of my favourites. The journalist has a very nice accent (no wonder, he's an English man), Alan Bangs, something like the John Peel of Germany. Unfortunatly, his radioshows are too special, so they have to close regulary.

www.youtube.com/watch

The Loreley is a very nice place, a rock above the river Rhine. A very german place, with a very popular legend about a blond girl who is combing her golden hair and the fishermen capsizal by watching her.

Sorry, I could go on with that for ages, but I have o work now and I have t scrap ice from my car. Have a nice day!

I meant to say in answer to the above that I love it when Jarvis says Fussball?!! It's so funny and anytime I hear or see that word I have his delivery in my head.

...and the bit about looking round churches, which I also love doing, but it's kind of sweet the way Jarvis says it.

I know! That really is adorable. Very English. I haven't watched it lately but doesn't he mention camping, as well?

Or really anything else owned by him...
