Has After You featured much in the end of year singles/tracks/song polls? The Soulwax remix was in NME's but I've not seen mention of it elsewhere.
I must say, it's a bit disappointing that having been met with pretty strong reviews when it officially came out in January, the airplay for After You, on 6Music anyway (who are the only station likely to play it regularly I guess), seemed to tail off rather quickly.
Regarding the reunion itself, I also wonder did it leave much of a legacy in terms of new and young bands discovering the band or even if it has made much of a dent with sales in the back-catalogue. All their top/second-top from the bill festival appearances got rave reviews more or less across the board. You'd think that would make an impact somewhere. Maybe it's hard to quantify these things (beyond sales and Youtube/Spotify streams which, in fairness, I think have spiked quite a bit since before 2011). Or maybe music as a life-changing thing is a more alien concept than in previous times. It shouldn't really matter but I think public perception is still quite important to Pulp. If they have carried on, I imagine it's as much down to the goodwill and reactions they got from crowds in the reunion as it is to them enjoying playing together again.
I don't know about After You but re the reunion I definitely agree that the way people reacted to the news and at the gigs will have been a good reminder to the band that people still want them around.
