Does anyone actually have this as an mp3 or equivalent that they might be willing to share. Never actually heard it in all my years of Pulp collecting, but I hear it's pretty good. A happy medium between the album/7" mix I have heard...?
As it's only featured on a promo CD then I'm guessing there is no problem with sharing it around?
Anyone in a giving mood? :)
Apparently it has three tracks. It has the standard 7" mix and album mix, but track one is a mix that is unique to that CD. Think there was a discussion thread about it on here ages and ages ago!
WOW! all this time and never noticed it was actually a different mix.
Its slight... but definitely different. Few added 'chimes' and the guitar at the certain points seems to have been altered or elevated.
I placed a copy in the baritalia2007 account.
Great. Thanks so much for that. I like it alot. As you say, not drastically different but some emphasis on certain parts that were lower in the mix on the album.
Thanks for the upload VoxPop, I don't think I've ever had this version before.
Seems halfway between the string and softer approach of the single version, and the crunchier (term stolen from someone here, probably Sturdy's book) simpler album version. Lots of little additions, which makes me think it's the better of the three versions, just generally a Lot More Interesting - best thing about Pulp music in my opionion!
Haven't heard it but what's the track time?
The single/radio edit must be a rare curio in pop music in that it is actually longer than the original unedited/album version. I do like the "And I know we'll never meet again...'' monologue.
