when I met him at the big melt he seemed cheery and had a joke because I asked if he would mind if we ambushed him for a second "I consider myself ambushed" :) he was even ace when I got a bit fangirly and called him a legend. Lovely bloke.
Just remembered, Candida was brilliant and just said "yes it was really good wasn't it?" :)

I found myself standing next to Nick at the bar in a pub in Sheffield last night. I was there, brace yourselves, in my capacity as a Morris dancer but casually mentioned to him how much I enjoyed the Big Melt to which statement he was very modest and slightly disingenuous saying 'Oh, it was just something we made up and wasn't the film good etc' I didn't trouble him anymore cos it looked like he was out with his family and was thinking how he wished this idiot with the bells on would leave him alone. Twas a strange meeting what with me in my Morris kit and all the time he was sat outside so he must have seen us dance as well.
