Not music though so don't get excited! My OH is a big fan of the comedian Toby Foster and he has a new topical, panel discussion programme on Radio Sheffield and I applied for audience tickets (oh, the glamour). Anyway, imagine my surprise when one of the panellists turned out to be Nick Banks. 'Oh god, that's Nick Banks' I said to her and he turned in a very funny personable performance. Toby asked whether the last Pulp tour had now finished to which Nick replied 'Yes, that tour is now finished' and that their engagement book is empty for the forseeable future! After the show I took the opportunity to collar him and prove to yet another member of my favourite band that I become a mumbling wreck with all the social skills of a hermit when faced with the prospect of a conversation. Told him how much I enjoyed the Arena gig, and complemented him on After You which he seemed pleased about saying it 'turned out alright' and that it was 'Jarvis's idea as a pressie to the Sheffield fans'. The programme will be broadcast on Radio Sheffield tomorrow afternoon at 13:00 but should be avilable on iplayer afterwards for anyone unlucky enough to live anywhere else but Sheffield.
