Ok, a pretty pointless story but it made me think 'bloody hell, who'd a thunk it'. When I was but a youthful indie kind (back in 1992 in Sheffield) I had occasion to go and see a band play live that I thought were absolutely brilliant. I'm thinking I saw them maybe three times in a few month period. That band was called The Lovebirds. Now I know that the band had one EP come out 'cos my mate bought it from Record Collector (he had disposable income unlike poor old me) but I never actually got him to tape it for me. Now I have spent some time looking for it online but it's never turned up and I forget about it for months at a time. Well, I started thinking about them again today and went a searching and I found a page about the record on this site http://st33.wordpress.com/sleeve-artists-designers/st33-designs/the-lovebirds/ But lo and behold what do I discover? Richard Hawley was in the bloody band! After Treebound Story and just before Longpigs. All that time I've been saying I didn't like Hawley (and I've never rated Longpigs either) and I absolutely adored a band he was in for not very long. I used to always go and talk to the band as well and spent quite a bit of time talking to them. Well, it's a funny old world ain't it?
