Hello, I'm new here.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a Sheffield Sex City T-shirt? I got one for myself when we were there but my Mrs elected to spend her gig budget on beer and is now full of remorse, I would be man of the year if I could find her one for Christmas. I guess I'd need a small ladies size as she's a small lady.

Any pointers much much appreciated, Thanks

Nothing in the online Pulp shops...?

Is your user name a reference to misheard My Legendary Girlfriend lyrics?

Couldn't see it in what looks like the official online Pulp shop, are there any others I could try?

And yes, did I mishear that? I think I remember it being quoted as "no cheese tonight" in the Jarvis Cocker Selected Lyrics book too, I'll have a look later, maybe I saw it because I expected it to be there!

I could have sworn it was 'no cheese tonight' - I also remember reading it!

I think they were all sold-out by the end and as they were only made for the show I wouldn't expect to see them in the online shop. Might be worth contacting the manufacturer's themselves, a Sheffield company. Jazza posted a blog post of them with pics of the t-shirt being made on another thread.

Oh, that's what I always heard too. I just assumed that I'd been mishearing. Ha!

When I first heard the "no cheese tonight" bit , I took it to mean the whole song was some kind of surreal dream sequence.

I always took "no cheese" to mean no cliches. Have I been taking the song too seriously all along? :P

I remember reading somewhere the t-shirts are going to be reprinted but since I can't remember where I read that don't quote me on it.

Hazzah! Also I think in MBL Jarvis says that 'no cheese tonight' came from before the song had set lyrics when he just improvised so it's a bit random and doesn't really mean anything

That's it, just checked the book -

"..it was still semi-improvised when we got round to recording it. Hence the rather strange proclamation of 'No cheese tonight'."

Also got a nice email back from Kid Acne who made the t-shirts saying they'd be in the online shop next week, so I'll second that Hazzah!
