I think the new track (OK re-recroded old demo!) is of really good quality.
What is particularly impressive is how much it varies to earlier Pulp albums. That has always being one of my biggest attractions to the band - unlike a lot of big bands such as Arctic Monkeys they really do manage to produce completely different sounds with each album.
Maybe if they see it's had such a positive reaction, it'll make similar releases - demos, re-recordings, anything - more likely.
Even if this is all it is, it's still good. Cheered me up as I've had to work over Christmas! I'd convinced myself it was a teaser trailer for the DVD.

I haven't heard it yet (saving it for Christmas day) but from what you all say it sounds like it's amazing - Hopefully there will be more to come but I think the 'download all tracks' is for other artists using the same program who upload several tracks
Merry Christmas!

I honestly can't believe anyone thinks it's just a remix of the old demo. The vocals are completely different to me and the rhythm/pacing on the vocals is different. Finally got to listen to it just now and I really love it, but I always loved the demo.

I was wondering if they maybe thought they'd have a go at it but that's the only song they finshed before deciding to call it a day. They then decided it was too good to languish in the vaults so they've given it away.

Plus the backing track is completely different too. That oriental sound is stronger on this with that extra guitar riff not coming in until the second verse whereas they blended throughout the original demo.
So amazing to hear this on Christmas morning! I'd never heard the demo, so this to me, is essentially a new track!
Agree with what everyone says about it being a new recording, Jarvis' vocals don't sound like they did post-Hardcore, pre-WLL. BUT, don't want to be quick to jump to conclusions. There's every chance that this was the result of the band dipping their collective toe into the studio (on the sly, of course) to see how things were.

im sure Jarvis going through notes of his, to put the book together also helped.
According to Q magazine it was 'recently recorded' with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. He's also working with Arcade Fire on their new album!
fantastic! Listening to it knowing that, it definitely makes sense. Also I can't understand why people think it still sounds rough and self produced demo-like. It sounds awesome. Obviously it doesn't sound pristine and shiny like indie bands in the 90s and early 2000s, but that's a good thing in my opinion. The only old Pulp production that dosen't sound a little dated are the Gift singles, and possibly It, strangely enough.
Also, the Soundcloud stream of the song that all the music websites are posting is my soundcloud account (brilliantmind), that I uploaded it to in order to post on tumblr! Not sure how I feel about that, really didn't think that websites would be reposting etc, I just wanted to show my internet friends. I feel like the song was temporarily 'ours' and I kinda gave it to everyone else, sorry about that.

Shows you how these 'news' sources get stuff. I lost respect for NME when I found a whole lot of my youtube files linked by their 'articles'
Hope this LCD soundsystem connections is true. Love LCD soundsytem, and they're working with Arcade Fire also, so 2013 looks like a good year for music.
