I actually did make them a Christmas card and gave it to a cameraman to pass on to the band.

1copy.jpg
It's the design they made in 1995 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWAXrV76Z2w -  at 4:10)

Also up for giving them one from the forum!

Brilliant idea! There's lots of online services that will print cards - I'm sure you've heard the annoying Moon Pig and Funky pigeon jingles. My personal favorite online printer is moo.com but they only sell packs of 25 cards at the very least.

Rough Trade does seem the best way of getting it to them. If not we could probably post it to Jarvis at the BBC and ask him to pass it on to the others.

Yeah, I'll collect them! My email is laurenrebeccaharrison @ gmail.com. My days off are Mondays and Thursdays so don't panic if I don't reply until then.

It'd be pretty cool if someone could think of one of those cheesy little poems you get in cards. Someone funnier and wittier than me!

Um, I just interpreted photos as the photos they're going to take at bar italia. But maybe everyone could send in a photo of them self and the back could be a photo collage, you know like when they have all the tiny little photos make up a massive photo? What could the massive photo be though? And we might be best taking two photos or so each or adding the odd random Pulp one in there since there's not exactly a lot of us :P

Also someone else would probably be best getting it printed since trips to the post office are a fortnightly thing for me. If someone wants to do that and looks into where they're going to get it printed then I can design the card around the specifications.

Since we're recreating the common people photo I was thinking a different class vibe, with the front of the card black with a curved border around the photo, if what I'm describing makes any sense. I could try and figure out how to create the Pulp logo from that era but make it say "Bar Italia" - not promising anything though, logo design isn't my forte!

Perhaps for more people to get involved, we could do it on Saturday instead? It'll be busy around Soho regardless.

(It'd also mean slightly more time to get everything sorted afterwards)

Fair enough - That makes more sense, I was just getting confused biggrin

If you want I could have a bash at the 'Bar Italia' in the Different Class font - I quite enjoy doing that sort of thing (plus it'll give me something to do!)

Might I also suggest that everyone in the picture at Bar Italia has some form of Pulp represented on them? E.g. a t-shirt or something. Co-ordinate guys! For example, I have a His N Hers shirt, so if someone has a shirt with a different cover, they should wear that? Sort of have it in order, His N Hers, Common People, DC and TIH? Something like that anyway.

Just a thought, but when somebody sends you a Christmas card is it not rude to not send one back? We should knock our heads together here & work out how to send them a nice card with all of our names on it (possibly with a present?)

We can send something to Rough Trade I suppose? Are there any geeks here know how we could do this over the internet & made something nice (hopefully physical that we can send via post?)

It's such a nice idea?

That would be good, maybe recreate some poses from the DC artwork too?

Hmmm... about if a group of 4 / 5 of us who are based in London go down to Bar Italia one weekend, and recreate the Common People single cover but in Bar Italia!!! We'd proabaly need to make a reservation for the window seats.

Or alternatively photoshop the band into Bar Italia to achieve the same thing.

If we go with the first option then everyone else's images can be included inside or on the back :P.

I'm really digging the top sentence... if I'm allowed to dig my own idea :)

I'd love to do this as well. If you send it to Jarvis' sunday service address I know it will get to him, not sure how likely it is he looks at everything he gets, but I sent him and Steve scarves that way and they got them.

Love the recreation of the Common People cover idea! I'm well up for that! Perhaps photoshop the cardboard cut outs of the band from DC into the background too...

Lets do it then!! :) Anyone free in London Sunday afternoon for this shoot? I think if we had 1 girl and 4 guys that would be perfect but sure we can bend the rules if needs be :p. (im one guy, so thats one!). And if any of you have horn-rimmed specs, perfect!! I can speak to Bar Italia tomorrow to reserve the seats. We also need someone with a good camera in addition... And finally someone good at photoshop to do the creating... Im happy to collect the photos and peoples names and usernames. So if you wish to be included but not on the cover please message me and Il give you my email.

I wouldn't mind doing the photoshoping and such. I am a graphic designer after all :P If everyone could scan their signature I could piece them all together to look like we'd all signed the card.

Jarv's home address in London is fairly well known, so that would be a possibility to send it to too.
