Yay, he sings the whole 'sick and tired yes I did moved a city had a kid painted faces on wall pretended that my name was Paul tried to travel back in time did something that didn't rhyme wore suede trousers with nothing underneath' bit in She's A Lady. All the other words were a bit muddled but that was perfect and he must have last sung that version in '93!
Bostin' set-list. Maybe the best in terms of even distribution from the five post '92 eras - Intro, HnH, DC, TIH and WLL. Female violinist doing sterling work on Cheesy Lady too.
I suppose he is more familiar with those lyrics that we're actually *less* familiar with! Did they ever do the proper HnH version live? I think it was pretty much dropped from the set by the time the album was recorded, wasn't it...?
A quick check confirms the HnH's version at the rather excellent Rouen 18/5/94 So I suppose around the time of the album they trotted out the album version but it's dropped from the setlist very soon after that.
Judging from everything they've played since the reunion, probably My Lighthouse, Little Girl/Dogs Are Everywhere & Countdown/Don't You Want Me Anymore?

Didn't you say things go better with a little bit of razzmatazz?
"With almost 15 thousand people. An hour and 35 minutes, get off the stage exhausted. So much so that Jarvis Cocker had to receive oxygen and assistance to reach their dressing room. So much so that they were unable to play the four songs they had prepared for the encore. "
Also interesting in that artcile is the fact Jarvis and Nick are against the new song idea; the two people except Steve you'd think would be the most up for it and Candida's seemingly wanting to call it a day soon, maybe she's a bit sick of this touring mallarchy .

Jesus Christ.
I don't think that's as dramatic as it's made out to be. He mentioned before in an interview for a Further Complications radio session that he often tries to make sure he knows where the St John's ambulance guy is during gigs so he can take a "swig" of oxygen after all the energy he expends on-stage from prancing about.
I've been a bit surprised/disappointed at Nick's comments on the reunion and writing new stuff. He's said the whole "whenever a band announces they're playing a new song, I'm the first to go straight to the bar" thing before; at least Jarvis was a bit more thoughtful and honest in his response in that Chilean interview - that writing new songs shouldn't be about doing it to flog albums but something you feel is a necessity or compulsion which at the moment they don't (and it's now or never really innit?). I still think it is for him though which is why I'd be amazed if we don't see another solo album but the rest of Pulp don't seem to feel the same.
Also re Nick, I think he was pretty open about how getting a lot of money for the gigs was the reason for extending the reunion on that interview on Radio Sheff when next month's farewell was first announced. I mean, yeah we all kind of assume it, but I dunno, you'd expect him not to be so blunt about it.
Fair play for that radio station nabbing a rare interview.

I don't think Candida and Russell were ever really cut-out for heavy-duty touring.
Yeah, definitely no Candida, no Pulp. I find it sad to read about needing assistance offstage and Candida's health problems, I mean, they're not that old are they. That's an interesting spin on things from Jarvis, that they're doing it for the love and not trying to make money. Is that why we're not getting a DVD or album of all these great performances? But then you could argue their website is selling quite expensive merchandise. Yeah Nick's comments annoyed me a bit as well
