We're coming down from Glasgow and don't know Sheffield. We're getting the tram from Hyde Park to the arena which seems straight forward enough but was wondering how easy it was to get back after the gig?
Roughly how long can you expect to wait for a tram?? Is the city centre within walking distance and if so how long would it take to walk? Is it safe??
Any tips on getting back into the centre would be much appreciated. We would like to get into Leadmills afterwards and are worried that it will be really busy and won't get in.
They usually put on special trams after a concert at the arena to take people back to town so you should be able to catch one of those. To be honest I wouldn't try and walk it as it's a fair distance through some not very appetising parts of town (though I'm sure you'd get to see loads of local colour!). Walking from town to the Leadmill is just something you'll have to do if you want to go there but it's not too far and is close to the train station where the main taxi rank is located.
Thanks for the replies. Any one got any suggestions for an alternative for the leadmills? Bearing in mind we are in our late 30's so don't want to end up surrounded by students. Or a late bar if there's no other good clubs would be ok??
