I thought it was a brilliant night - not perfect, because there wasn't enough from His n Hers, no OU and no Russell, but one of the best gigs of my life, let alone Pulp gigs. We had a great view, room to dance and I sang my heart out. Can't wait to hopefully relive it with these MP3s and the DVD (or Blu ray hopefully).

Well I saw you! I arrived at about 5 and was inbetween sarah and salmon in the queue but when I went in I noticed you lot near stage left and I have a bad left ear so with no Russell I wasn't gonna risk it and went stage right.

It was a brilliant night as expected. The highlights for me were Countdown and Razzmatazz. A few disappointments though. The obvious Arena atmosphere and a lot of idiots in the crowd. I enjoyed the rarities but they've all been played before and there wasn't anything extra special. I would've traded Born to cry/My Lighthouse/Like a friend for some stuff off Separations or Sisters. The saddest thing was only 2 songs from His n' hers! No Pink Glove, Joyriders or She's a lady. Happy Endings would've been a perfect ending.

That all sounds really negative but I did have a great night and it would've been in my top 5 Pulp gigs. The Leadmill was fun too!

Oh, another great thing about last night - from what I could see no one assisted Candida onto the stage (it was hard to make it out behind the curtain but I was at the right angle to just see behind it) and she looked very well. My sister commented that she looked like an christmas tree angel in her sparkly jumper.

For me there was like others have said, Positive and Negative things......

They seemed to be on form, very few bum notes and seemed to really enjoy the gig - even when Mark cocked up during babies, Jarvis's " too early " during the lyrics made me chuckle. Far too Different Class orientated, yes it was nice to see some others from TIH played, but for me the band lost the audience during the "time warp" - which mind I dont give a fuck what the "casuals" think - I loved hearing Little Girl / ML / Countdown live.

To see the gig recorded - WOW, and then these christmas cards teasing a potential pre order / mp3 download / new material. I also got the distinct inpression that this wasnt the last time we have seen of Pulp - there was no "goodbye" ala magna style saying we dont know when we will see you again etc........ no door was left closed or half open.

 Did you manage to find a place to stay then? I dunno since Jarvis did mention Magna and what about the bow?! I really hope you're right though

I wouldn't change a single thing about the night. Yeah, there's certain songs I would have love to hear but it doesn't matter. When I first really got into Pulp in 2008 I never dreamt I'd get the chance to see them live. And now I have, in the place where it all began and I had the best time of my life and even got to hear Countdown, the lyrics that mean the most to me. It was brilliant.

 Did he? I was watching him for most of the night and the only song he cocked up on was "Party Hard" and that was not necessarily his fault. I did noticed that towards the end he was suffering really quite badly. He was rubbing ice on his hands and flexing them vigourously and he looked physically exhausted.

I managed to get a hotel in Chesterfield, £39 quid for the night, it was actually an ok place!!!! £20 for a taxi from Sheffield centre though, but a roof is a roof !!!

Im just curious as to why IF it was the final gig, it wasnt much of a "this is the last you will see of us, we will meet again who knows when, live on" kinda thing.

He also forgot the "stomachs in, chest out" bit from Monday Morning initially... not that I'm complaining, he worked very hard last night and was amazing!

I think this christmas present must be a new song - regardless of whether they're continuing or not. A link to a DVD or live material wouldn't be worth the effort surely.

Hello Jazza ! Was lovely to meet you in the queue - sorry that I was a bit over excitable and near hysterical. Was very impressed with your queue system skills! Glad that you managed to get a decent spot. We went to the right and got just near where the speakers were. Amusingly Jarvis came right down and got to the person next to me during I spy and then turned the camera on himself ( if i didnt know better i could get a complex!) All the best tshirts had sold by the time I got out.....had to make do with a tea towel!

Pretty envious of anyone on Steve's side last night. He looked super handsome. I'm still sad I couldn't go but the plane ticket from LA to England is too extravagant (esp when I'm trying to save money for grad school. Even if it WAS for Pulp) I'm almost more sad about not getting to meet up with some of you guys than the show, though the setlist seemed pretty decent (you got more rarities than Radio City). I'm really glad everyone had a good time though. It seems like it was a great show.

I'm really really hoping the christmas card thing is a new song, but I just don't know how likely that really is...

Am I alone in thinking that this may be a ticket to a smaller gig? Maybe wishful thinking but it would certainly be a way of targeting genuine fans (and no touts) - I don't know how many they were handing out but I doubt they printed 14 000

I too was hoping for that Jazza but it seems they had 1000's of 'em and the website you're directed too definitely says 'mp3's coming soon', but god did I want it to be an invite to an intimate show.

Mark's guitar was out of tune and the roadie was slow at sorting it out. Jarvis', ever the pro, kept things going with his "Hard" intonating on the mega-phone.
