Does anyone have any sort of tattoo that's Pulp related? I'm considering getting my first tattoo sometime within the next year and while I already know what I want for it and all and it's not Pulp related, I was thinking how if I did get a second tattoo I'd really like to have something Pulp related because they mean so much to me (yadda yadda). But I don't really think I want lyrics by themselves and they're not big on the logos or 'mascots' so to speak (thinking of Radiohead's modified bear). I thought the little fish from the my lighthouse single might be cute but it doesn't seem personal enough. I don't know! Just wondering what others might think and if you have any suggestions. I'm not going to run out and modify my body any time soon but I'd like some time to think about it if I ever do get a Pulp-inspired tattoo.

I'm interested in what anyone posts in this thread. I'd love a Pulp tattoo but am having trouble narrowing it down. I'd like something that isn't obviously related to them or something that could have a double meaning. I don't want lyrics because I've never seen a text tattoo age well plus it would feel slightly weird to have someone else's words on my body. I think I might like something from the This is Hardcore art work because Peter Saville has been a massive influence on me and the career I've chosen but nothing really jumps out from that.... sorry I couldn't be of any help!

i was going to get 'acrylic' tattooed somewhere in the famous pulp font (like the pulp on the sheffield poster)
then I changed my mind and thought about his/ or hers in the same font

but then i saw this article and was put right off it. check out the mika fan. I'm not that much younger than her (i don't look nearly as rough as her though) and i just had a fear of ending up like her with it...

(edit: i'm 8 years younger than her - so i've got time to look that bad!)

I totally agree with the lyrics thing especially because Jarvis' lyrics, more than other artists, seem so so personal it would feel wrong getting them as a tattoo even if I can identify with them. (such a shame too, "shove it in sideways" would make such a poetic tattoo.....) I thought about maybe a broken biscuit in reference to mis-shapes which has always been a song I've identified with anyway but I don't feel super into the idea which probably means I shouldn't have it put permanently on my body.

You should get Jarvis' face tattooed over your face.

Oh no! That tattoo of Jarvis. I had (JOKINGLY) said "Oh well I'll just have Steve Mackey's face tattooed on my back" but I can't believe someone's actually had Jarvis put on them. That's some extreme dedication.

I just had the most horrible / wonderful mental image: You know that bathrobe-wearing bloke under the TIH CD cradle. Imagine somebody getting him tattooed around an "outie" belly button. Then you can pop a CD on over him.

I read this at work and started thinking about it on my way home and burst out laughing.

That tattoo of Jarvis is so well done but whenever I see portrait tattoos all I can think about it what happens when they get older and wrinkle and the subject ends up looking like a pug.

I wonder if he's ever seen the tattoo. I don't think I'd cope very well with someone having my face on their body.

But pugs are awesome! I agree with Lauren about that Jarvis tattoo being very well done, but I will never understand portrait tattoos. I'm not a tattoo person in general though.

I know you said you didn't want a logo but I've always admired the arrow logo from the back of the Razzmatazz cover:

Did anyone see that bloke on Buzzcocks covered in Miley Cyrus tattoos? A man in his forties covered in tattoos of a 17 year old (and I suspect younger when he got the first). So wrong.
