ADMIN - Links removed

So I don't know if anyone particularly cares about this since you probably all already have pretty much everything, but I had compiled all of my Pulp b-sides, demos, extras, non-album singles etc into some zip files for a few friends on Tumblr and thought I would share the links for anyone who does want them.  (this excludes pretty much all the rare stuff Stephen's been putting up on portfolios but I'm pretty sure someone else made a big compiled file for those) I know that a lot of these are on the e-mail accounts but I thought it might be handier to have them in one place

there's three chronological folders and then 'extras' because I forgot to put a bunch in the other zip files. I think the only thing missing is Please Don't Worry because I forgot about it. also I think Back in LA and one other older one ended up in the 90s folder because they're mislabeled in my iTunes or something but whatever.

1980-1987-

  • I Scrubbed the Crabs that Killed Sheffield
  • What Do You Say
  • Sickly Grin
  • Everybody's Problem
  • There Was
  • The entire Sudan Gerri demo
  • Coy Mistress
  • Snow
  • Everything on the Masters of the Universe compilation
  • Rattlesnake
  • Death Comes to Town

1987-1993-

  • Is This House? (okay not REALLY a pulp song but whatever)
  • Death Goes to the Disco
  • Styloroc
  • Sheffield: Sex City
  • Back in LA (like I said)
  • The Night
  • Deep Fried in Kelvin
  • You're a Nightmare
  • O.U.
  • Space
  • Razzmatazz
  • Stacks
  • Inside Susan
  • 59 Lyndhurst Grove

1994-2002-

  • Street Lites
  • The Babysitter
  • Your Sister's Clothes
  • Seconds
  • His 'n' Hers
  • Femme Fatale
  • Whiskey in the Jar
  • All the DC Deluxe extras (including the better version of Ansaphone in my personal opinion)
  • Ansaphone (original single)
  • P.T.A.
  • Mile End
  • Tomorrow Never Lies
  • Laughing Boy
  • Cocaine Socialism
  • That Boy's Evil
  • We are the Boyz
  • All the TIH Deluxe Extras
  • Ladies' Man
  • The Professional
  • Born to Cry
  • My Body May Die
  • Cuckoo Song
  • The Quiet Revolution
  • Got to Have Love
  • After You
  • On Your Own Again (I think this was from that thing Jarvis, Steve, and Mark did 'cause I can't actually find any info on it and I'm pretty sure it's not an actual Pulp song)
  • My Mistake
  • Le Roi Fourmis
  • Yesterday
  • Forever in My Dreams

Extras-

  • All the His 'n' Hers deluxe edition extras
  • Grandfather's Nursery
  • Last Day of the Miners' Strike
  • Turkey Mambo Momma
  • Duck Diving
  • Theme From Peter Gunn off the Peel Sessions
  • er I think that's it

so anyway, enjoy/help yourself if you don't have any of these. I know Anet mentioned she hadn't heard We Can Dance Again so I dunno how many people haven't heard some of the deluxe edition stuff but it's all there.

Tricia, do beware of sharing lots of this stuff. An awful lot of it is still currently available and it'll cost the band money if people are getting this for free rather than from the band. There's stuff here from Intro and also from the deluxe albums. It seems a bit unfair to be distributing the deluxe album bonus tracks for free when we're petitioning for them to release We Love Life in a similar form...

On Your Own Again is a Scott Walker song. It was performed at Meltdown when Walker curated.

AllTimeHigh is missing.

http://www.discogs.com/David-Arnold-Shaken-And-Stirred-The-David-Arnold-James-Bond-Project/release/11100

Some people consider that it is not really a Pulp song , but it is excellent.

It would have been a perfect double A side single with TomorrowNeverLies

I still really think these links should be taken down...

I absolutely agree, as Stephen has already mentioned the majority of this material is still very much  easily available. And the WLL demos should definately be removed.

Just to reiterate, we've got:

Masters of the Universe compilation
Pulpintro
Deluxe His 'n' Hers
Deluxe Different Class
Deluxe This is Hardcore
The 'rare' track from the Peel Sessions LP

here for starters. These are all currently available for legitimate download (or purchase in record shops) and I think this is going against the whole ethos of a) this board and b) circulating rare tracks. You are taking money straight from the band here and if anyone was thinking of releasing a deluxe 'We Love Life' there's cause here to think "Well, why should we? They'll just circulate it freely anyway"

and just to clarify I did post this with good intentions. I just didn't really think about the fact that a lot of people have differing opinions on the issue of file sharing (which is my mistake obviously). so I'm sorry if I offended anyone, which is why I've removed the files.

I wouldn't feel too bad Tricia. There's people on this site who didn't pay for the deluxe editions of HnH, DC and TiH.

No real need to bring that into it Fred. I think the people, including me, that didn't, gave pretty good reasons last time this came up.

Just bringing comfort to our American friend. Don't want her to feel like we're all ganging up on her do we? And is there any real excuse not to buy the Deluxes? They're a thing of beauty and quite cheap now.

Too right Fred, they're a thing of real magnificence, especially This is Hardcore Deluxe.

I've never been able to find Different Class Deluxe cheap. TIH:D I bought for £3 from Fopp a couple of years ago.

Contact moderators via PM if you have concerns about links.   I don't read every post (nor do the others I guess). The links will be removed.

http://baritalia.activeboard.com/t10825513/forum-guidelines-please-read-before-posting-as-if/

THE FIRST RULE
First off, ABSOLUTELY no discussion about the copying and sharing of commercially-available material. (Discussion of the entirely unrelated Yahoo e-mail account is entirely permissible, provided it's made clear it has nothing to do with the site. If someone asks for something commercially available to be put in there, tell them politely that that's not how it works.) This is an absolute cast iron rule. It is a silly rule, caused by stupid people and their lawyers, but it is not open to debate.

With my moderator hat on, it breaks the rules so the links have to go.

Links to bootlegs and unreleased demos have been allowed as they are not commercially available.

I did argue that deleted material should be allowed, but the power that be (Steve D) decided nothing that was ever commercially available should be available.  And since then there has been the Fire releases and the deluxe edition which along with the Peel Sessions covered a lot of the deleted material.

One day there will probably be a big box set with everything in it, and all such discussion will be rendered meaningless, until then, just scout around elsewhere for those elusive tracks.

I already said I took the links down. If you clicked them they don't go to anything. But okay.

Also I would have taken them down sooner but I never saw Stephen's comment. I guess this discussion got pushed down and I didn't realize it had been updated.

Just thought I'd mention that it looks like the Deluxe Edition stuff is on Spotify (at least I saw DC deluxe) so if anybody has that, it's a legal alternative if you haven't heard the deluxe edition stuff for whatever reason.

Thats what I use to listen to the extra tracks. Funny how Freaks is right at the top of the album list, hope Fairground hasn't scared off too many potential fans :)

Spotify is brilliant.  I often wonder had I started listening to music nowadays rather than way back when if I would ever have bought a record at all.

I told my friend to check that out last to get into them and he listened to it first and he says it's his favorite and he loves Fairground. I was surprised, to say the least.
