Lauren - I'm with you on common people! Great song but way too many times over the years. Sadly DC is my least played album (I think as I am on my 3rd, it may have been a tad overplayed by moi) - I remember I Spy being my fave originally but now I tend to skip over that one.
BTW - Can't beat Common people live though! I may groan when it's on the radio but bounce up and down for it at a gig.
Hi guys, not been negative at all. In my opinion Different Class in an amazing pulp album, just wondered what everyones least fav was that's all.
I only wrote in red so that it stood out lol.
Monday Morning isn't BAD, it's just badly recorded and the arrangement isn't too great..the melody and lyrics and good but it sounds dead thin and that awkward reggae style pre chorus is just dreadful.
I suspect that opinion on We Can Dance Again will be split between those who first encountered it as a rough but brilliant live bootleg track and those who first heard it as a shoddy, disappointing demo.
Well i've had the live version for about 5 years before it was released as a demo, i've had the Chevette versions few months before and i still love the song. It's obviously not finished, but recorded properly, it would have made a great DC track. It's a shame it was left over as a demo but i'm glad at least such a version exists. It's still better than Monday Morning, even as a demo
Am I the only one who thinks We Can Dance Again would fit better on His N Hers? It's got that (cheesy is the wrong word), it's more 'in your face' synth sound which is very common on H'n'H, perhaps instead of Someone Like The Moon? I just couldn't imagine it on DC!

It's on Different Class Deluxe. Go now and listen to it Anet. Maybe on YouTube or spotify or whatever and give us your first impression of it.
Right, just found it on youtube. Have to say, first hearing has not blown me away. I'm inclined to agree with Fred's opinion. And Jazza's view that it doesn't fit on DC. However, nothing ever sounds great listened to on my laptop, it's all tinny and weedy, so I will reserve a full opinion until I have purchased my deluxe Different Class. Which could be some time as I don't have deluxe finances at the moment.
Never really was a fan of Mis Shapes. I know it's kind of the theme of the album, but that song never grabbed me like the others. I always thought Monday Morning was great, and even better live.
New member by the way...long time lurker. Thought I'd finally add to the discussion.
It's not the production putting me off (I like Catcliffe, Street Operator... Hell I even prefer Paula) it's god awful lines like "and if you hold me tight I might just stay the night" Pulp are better than that. Sounds more like a James Blunt song.

Yeah it sounds like a song inbetween the two records, but again that's the production. It would probably have sounded closer to Disco 2000 on DC.
