The way I understood it was that their money continued to dwindle whilst they recorded 'Free All Angels'. By the time the first single, Shining Light, came to be released, they were almost bankrupt...and then that single saved their skins. Whilst I'm not a huge fan of it, I am a fan of the fact that it allowed them to carry on because I like Ash a fair bit and I thought they deserved a second shot at being successful. And there were some amazing tracks still to come which we wouldn't have had without Shining Light's success.
