I feel that this is worthy of its own topic - for anyone who has spares for the Sheffield gig, please advertise the fact in here - or if anyone is desperately seeking tickets and refuse to pay the scumbag price on ebay, also advertise the fact here too !!!!
Ill start................Dixie seeking a ticket !!!!!! HELP !!!
This has also got me thinking.............we need to possibly get in touch with band members and express our utter dissapointment that we are un able to purchase a ticket due to touts/other businesses getting priority over genuine punters.
I know for a fact that 40% of tickets will have been reserved for those who are *wealthy* or sponsors/wags etc......or sold on to other websites who will then sell them at a higher value. Seen it all before.
40% may be a bit high but it still stands that tickets get reserved for people with money and what not especially since I could see fucking Albert Hammond Jr. sitting in a much better spot than me at the NYC concert along with a few other familiar musical faces. Surely the fans who got up to try and get pre-sale/best seats deserve those seats/tickets more!

40% was just a general figure mate. there was a program on UK tv not too long ago about ticket touts ....ticket companies online selling tickets to other websites in bulk before they actually go on sale.....touts abusing the systems.....its a disgrace. people through the nme website reselling tickets which are priced over 200. nme should support its fans and not allow this shit to happen. I've emailed a dozen sellers on ebay expressing my disgust of selling tickets at more than double face value. we as fans need to make a stand against this shit. imagine if we all refuse to buy tickets for future gigs......half attendances ......we need to stand and be counted

It's a scandal. I went on Seetickets to see if they had anything for December, and one standing ticket was £70 (over double the face value), plus £20(!) booking fee. On top of that, the cheeky sods wanted £10 for postage! Shocking! No chance I'm buying that!

Hush, keep very still, for the strangest things are about to happen.
One of those petitions on the number 10 website would be a good idea. I bet it would get bags of support too as it's something that affects all music fans across the board
Yes that Channel 4 prog was sickening. Anyone working or those companies must not have a soul. Whenever I've sold on eBay I've charged whatever the price total came to when I first bought.
It is a huge scandal, but it's just the way things are sadly. The die hard fans sometimes miss out while fuckers get tickets and sell them for double triple even quadruple or more the proper value. I will be taking the plunge and getting one or two tickets off ebay eventually, as I will not be missing this. I'll make the three hour journey and stop in a travel lodge alone if I have to, won't miss it.
Will call only might have helped somewhat. I know Radiohead has some sort of partnership with a company in the UK that helps prevent this kind of thing and they also release their presale "fanclub" tickets at random times and open up more periodically, which can be frustrating if you stay up all night the day you know they'll be released just to get some tickets, but it does weed out the people who aren't """diehard""" fans. I don't know if Pulp ever considered a similar process. Tickets in the US were mostly through ticketmaster, who I know gives a portion of their tickets to the scalper site Stubhub because they own it. It's a lot of bullshit.
