I missed out on the pre-sale for standing tickets. Fingers crossed for Friday. My huband has decided he's had enough Pulp live so my 15 yr old son is going to come with me as he was very miffed we didn't take him to Wireless or Brixton. He really likes Pulp unlike my 11 yer old daughter who hates them and groans every time I play them in the car. Usually it would be impossible for me to get away at this time of the academic year (especially to travel all the way from Cornwall) but I will be on sabbatical and will have more flexibility. Hope there's a meet up. It would be good to catch up with some of you again.

i bought my tickets in the presale - but I only bought 2 tickets as it was all I could afford. All of my friends want to buy tickets tomorrow as they are "not so clever Pulp fans" & I wondered if any of them are unlucky, can anyone with spares help us out? - Thanks!
After some thought I decided I'm gonna make the trip from Greece as I wouldn't wanna miss this. So I 'll try my luck for standing tomorrow, too. I was just wondering if everything goes according to plan how do I collect them? Does anyone know if they post tickets outside the UK? Cheers

The Sheffield Arena doesn't post tickets outside of the UK, so that means you'll have to collect them at the box office. Which is right at the arena itself, so no worries. The only issue that could happen is that the box office opens at a late hour, but that's only a problem if you say want to be at the front. And even then, it's not impossible.
Great! Only saw this late as im on holidays. Muchas gracias to Paola for sorting out a ticket for me. Havent heard Nicks interview yet but this does seem to have a note of finality to it all. New material was, despite the rumours and hopeful chatter, a long-shot at best.
I liked the nod to the Day that Never Happened - only beaten by the "Serbski Yes!" tweet last year for obscure references about themselves. I reckon Jarvis will either show pics from that gig, (the fascinating ones uploaded on acrylicafternoons the other month) and talk about it a la his lecture/power-point schtick or he will dig-out the old footage of the gig from his loft and we will finally get to see it.
Also, its about 10 years, to the month I think, since they issued that press release stating their intentions not to re-sign with Universal, effectively announcing the split/hiatus. This gig, and the last 15 months have in a way been the lap-of-honour that they missed out on in 2002, I guess due to public apathy and maybe a bit of indifference within the band themselves. Auto was a nice idea, and their show was meant to have been great but they deserve their own headline big night in their own town (ideally they would play a Leadmill that holds five times more people) so Im chuffed that they will finally get it and that with all the goodwill and excellent reviews garnered over the last year, it should hopefully be a sell-out too.
I'm depressed now.. I almost got them. by the time I finished filling my information and refreshed the page they were gonne.. I have to ask, if anyone has any spare I 'd be more than grateful to buy them from them even at a higher price!! (of course Disco Bible and pulpqueenie have a priority, and lalahobbit too.

I just bought two tickets for block 208 row H for £66. Anyone who wants to buy them (for face value obviously) let me know. I'd prefer someone who could pay within the next month but if you can't we'll work something out.
(I should add on if there's tickets on the official website still available check there first - it'd be great if I could sell these to someone who didn't have the chance cause they were working or something)

dammit! i transferred the money in the end from my rent account (which i'll regret, don't judge me haha) and come home to find its sold out??
It was bound to happen obviously with it being the first hometown show...finally :)
but yeah, like I said if anyone has a spare pair of standing I'm still very interested obviously and am at work later so am really worried they'll suddenly announce a second show. how likely's that do you reckon? a second show in general i mean not an announcement right away

yeah the way this one sold out so fast I really wouldn't be surprised...usually the way sadly just to hype it up a bit. "Sold Out. Extra due to popular demand etc etc"
i'd be pissed off simply because I've not got much money right now but I know I'd HAVE to try and go to both nights, after going to Brixton night 1 then hearing night 2 got Sheffield Sex City :P and The Trees!
i'd hate to go to one then find out the second night got My Lighthouse or something ;)

Disco Bible, while it is great and exciting to hear something like 'My Lighthouse' live, or - presumably - Back in LA or Dogs Are Everywhere, it really is more a case of "Wow, I can't believe they're playing this" rather than "Wow, this is an amazing of an amazing song".
Even as a Pulp obscuro-fan, I'd much rather have a Sheffield: Sex City again or a Wickerman a la Brixton again than the, admittedly pleasant enough My Lighthouse at RAH.
haha fair enough personally My Lighthouse is one of my favourite songs so was really glad to hear they'd dug it up again :) but Back In LA is definitely more 'impressive' because of the obscurity rather than the song itself I have to agree.....!

Well, having just returned from my holiday I've been excited since my friend sent me word of this this week, however it's looking like it's all sold out, so I'm kinda upset about it today, was really hoping I wouldn't miss what could be the final Pulp gig .

If that is the case there's gonna be an awful lot of people who will be getting a shock that night (I'd say about 13,500 of 'em). Remember that The Day That Never Happened was kinda considered to be the last Pulp concert wasn't it? A fond farewell and something special before Jarvis left for London. Maybe it will the finale.

I'm out while they're onsale sadly, and pretty skint!! so this is very embarassing to ask (not to mention fucking risky if my girlfriend ever sees this SOMEHOW :P haha)
BUT if anyone has a spare pair of standing tickets later this morning that they don't mind being paid back for in 2 weeks (paypal?) then let me know I'd be very grateful. money's a little tight right now but this gig is a huge deal obviously!!
I know it's a big ask, especially considering how short a time I've been here, but still worth asking i guess? and worst case scenario, if I don't manage to make the money by then I'm sure there's someone else on here who'd snap them straight up?
Phew, I got standing from the arena website! I kind of don't trust it, as it seems like the sort of site that will come back to me in a couple of days and say they were "unable to process my payment" or something daft, but fingers crossed! Standing tickets are all gone now, they went quicker than I thought they would!!
