hi guys, i'm not a frequent poster so sorry to come back just to ask a favour but every now and then I've tried to find that track 'Tell Her You Love Her' by Stanley Myers that Pulp sampled on the The Trees...anybody able to help please? i've searched the yahoo accounts in case someone posted it before but apparently no luck.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if Sunrise had a sample too? There was something on Radio 2 I used to hear occasionally about 10 years ago when I was working full time. I have no idea what it was called but I think it was a mainly instrumental disco song. It had the same opening guitar melody from Sunrise but very briefly, midway through the song. It was a crappy radio in a noisy factory so I may be mistaken, but just wondered if this sounds familiar to anyone?
Does anyone know where the sample in Got To Have Love is from?
It seems kinda funny these days, an indie band using samples so heavily but it was pretty fashionable at the turn of the century, wasn't it? The equivalent these days are really arbitrary electronic 'beats' etc. Pulp did sampling brilliantly mind, it felt so deliberate, everything was there for a reason.
I've tried and tried to locate the sample from Got To Have Love but with no success.
Do you have any sort of idea at all, do you think it's from a 70s disco track, or maybe a Northern Soul song? I know a few people who are VERY into those genres so perhaps they might know!

Well, my attempts have mostly been based around trying to locate the Got To Have Love Motif in other songs. To me it sounds more soul than disco but thus far I have had no luck.
