Just looking at the photos of this Pulp appearance to promote Bad Cover Version and Mark appears to be entirely absent. Is there a story to this...? I note that in other performances, Mark plays the electric lead and Richard plays the acoustic, but this shows Richard (I think) on lead although I presume it was probably mimed anyway...

Not 100% but I'm pretty sure the short guy in the beige with the massive cherry red Gibson is Mr. Webber :P. Do you mean it's Hawley that's missing?

My mistake! Looking at the stills, I really thought it was a shorter haired Hawley. The angles made Mark look rather taller than he is!
