That given the date we are on now that Pulp will NOT be playing any dates in the UK over the Summer and that if they do anymore dates it will be in the Winter or, even, next year?
Do you think they have come to a point where they have to make a decision about where this is all going? In the first place, it was a few festival shows over a summer for a bit of fun. They have discovered they are really enjoying it by the looks of things, more than they possibly imagined was possible at the outset, and have carried on into a second summer, but beyond this it seems to me there are 3 basic directions:
1. They agree they are enjoying being a band again and write new material and do all the usual bandy things, including the bits they didn't like before, probably includes properly (at all) promoting things in the press, maybe touring properly, recording properly.
2. Carrying on, but just playing old stuff and having fun like they have been so far. Is that sustainable from the audience point of view, maybe as they will go on being as entertaining as they have been so far, but can they stomach that artistically, this would be heritage act option after all. And this is what will happen if they don't make a more active decision otherwise.
3. Quit while the going is good, it was a nice interlude but don't let it go sour. This was probably the original intention before they started enjoying themselves.

We'll use the one thing we've got more of, that's our minds.
They announced last year's Brixton shows on 4th July so we're definitely still in the window for something similar to happen this year. I've booked a 3 week holiday starting end of August so pray that they do later/winter dates this year though.
I'd be surprised if the reformation ended without a Sheffield show.
Fran - fingers crossed for option 1.

If you didn't come to party then why did you come?
The Pixies have been touring for about eight years since reforming without putting out any new material. If the band are happy doing it and the fans are happy with it there's no reason they can't keep playing a few shows every year wihtout putting anything new out.
