My immediate thought was it was just some kind of favour-returning, the Boxettes have done various backing vocals for Pulp over the last year, there was that posh party in Paris we had the video of, was that to do with the Eurostar campaign, you know where no-one was really listening. Jarvis does do a fair bit of adding in some vocals and stardust for other people's stuff, Avalanche, Synchronise and so on, but you never know! He has to have some kind of proper excuse for skiving off 6 Music (station of the year) till September with only a couple of festivals in July to occupy himself.

Actually, that drum looks like it could be apart of Nick's kit, there's a very similar one in the Common People Reading video. Or perhaps, he uses a different kit in the studio, many drummers do.
