What does everyone think? I am digging it, a really good album. It's received great reviews too.
I notice on NME that the album was inspired by the death by Hawley's best friend. I suspect this was the same friend whose passing led to Pulp's reunion.
Tim McCall, yeah. Replaced Hawley as the guitarist in Jarvis' solo band and as you say, was also responsible to some degree, maybe fully, for Pulp getting back together.
Haven't heard the album yet, looking forward to over the weekend.
He was on Later, I only saw the short version of the programme with the single, but very enjoyable. He was interviewed on Steve Lamacq where he talked about Tim a a bit, his "guitar buddy" and the album being much more oriented around the music and more guitar-y, rather than the more song-writing focus of his previous albums.
I just don't get it, his music doesn't do anything for me at all it just leaves me cold. He's a great guy and I love hearing and seeing him interviewed but I have no time for his music at all. I never liked The Longpigs neither!
