There's currently 285 votes on the petition on Pulp Wiki to get WLL DX released and a lot of them are silly names, which is frankly a bit shit.

So I had an idea; every single one of you who reads this forum and wants a WLL deluxe edition must, on Friday, promote the cause on another website that you peruse, even if it doesn't seem like a natural fit, then we can all watch the number of votes rocket up.

Anyone with me on this? Which website will you post on?

I only post on here, twitter and Facebook.

Shall we all mob twitter and see how many of us can get it retweeted? We can agree on a joint message beforehand...

Facebook and twitter's great! Everyone's got a different circle of people on there so it wouldn't matter if lots of people posted on there.

I'm up for mobbing last.fm and twitter, but I'll be flying from Beijing to London with a toddler that day, so probably no-can-do, I'm afraid.

It doesn't have to be that day, just thought it would be a good way of doing it.

I would/can also do Last.FM. That seems to be my mode of transport these days..... what about emailing blogs like The Quietus, Drowned in Sound etc. Surely there has to be some interest in this due to the Scott Walker connection?

I definitely support this. Realistically a lot more votes are needed if the petition is going to stand any chance of succeeding. It certainly seems worth having another go to pushing up the number of votes.

Should obviously fake or silly names be removed? What do people think? I think they do detract a bit.

I've already deleted a substantial number of signings where there was no doubt the same person had voted more than once. There was one idiot who started voting every day and didn't get the message when his entries were repeatedly deleted. I've permanently blocked his IP address now and that seems to have put a stop to it.

Jazza had the right idea printing out those flyers she made when Jarvis was reciting some lyrics from his book across the country before Christmas.
Probably something we should have organised for the RAH gig, or given the lighting technician a pint to project the flyer on-screen for 17 seconds.

As long as the IP addresses are valid, I'd leave the sillier names for now and maybe delete them further down the line if we have an impressive number of normal-looking names. Have we decided what an impressive number would be?

I like that you can leave a comment too. Some of the messages are quite clever and funny.

When we started I think 2,000 was mentioned, that seems overly optimistic now. Ideally, I think we should still be looking to go over 1,000.

I'm not much up on social networking unfortunately but I can post on the eels forum, and the Stephen king and folksy forums for what it's worth... Can't do any harm anyway. Might sign up to the Divine Comedy forum and post there as well.

Will do my best! Although the only other music based forum I go on is PWEI (really can't see many other PWEI/Pulp fans out there, but one will post with optimism) and everything else is making wine or allotment type sites.... Did post to FB last time, will do again and ask people to share I guess :)

I'm going to post on any sites I'm a member of in the hope that someone on there will be a fan, can't do any harm.

We should have a twitter hashtag thing. #WeLoveLifeDeluxe blatant enough?

Also a spiel describing the quality of some of the songs that aren't officially out there yet?

Are there any impressive youtube videos of any of the songs being performed live?

Fred,

I'm afraid there's only been three gigs were unreleased WLL material was aired.

10/6/99 at a private party in Venice saw Roald Dahl, Duck Diving, Quiet Revolution and Cuckoo. The band recorded this, but it's not in circulation.
31/8/99 at Flux, Edinburgh. Again, Roald Dahl, Duck Diving, Quiet Revolution and Cuckoo were played. There's an audio of this, but no video.
2/9/99 at Liss Ard Festival in Co. Cork. Again, Roald Dahl, Duck Diving, Quiet Revolution and Cuckoo were played to a few hundred people and some bad reviews. No audio even exists of this.

Duck Diving also exists as the 12/8/01 Peel Session too, of course.

Yeah that was me - I thought since it was in Mother, Brother, Lover people would be more likely to type it into youtube, see the appeal and sign the petition. It only got 170 views though so probably not a brilliant strategy

There might only be 115 signatures on the petition without it.

Let's try and get some blurb ready. Who's got good, eye-catching writing skills?

The Pulp album 'We Love Life' is now eleven years old.

However, the songs which appeared on the album only tell half the story of the busy songwriting and recording period which the group engaged in between 1999 and 2001 under various producers, including Walker Brothers legend Scott and long time Pulp/Pink Floyd/Beatles producer Chris Thomas. And Howie B.

Universal Music Group, in close collaboration with the group, issued two disc deluxe versions of Pulp's earlier albums His 'n' Hers, Different Class and This is Hardcore, offering up to the world the delights of Can I Have My Balls Back Please, Modern Marriage, The Boss...and Nick Cave fronting the band on a version of Disco 2000.

Yet We Love Life has so much more....blah....blah blah...

To help petition Universal Music Group to release the many unreleased songs from this period, in the form of a We Love Life deluxe edition or digital downloads of the individual songs, please click HERE.
