Gotta say, Magnus's drumming on these shows has just blown me away, he was an incredible drummer. My favourite of the new shows definitely has to be the June '84 Hallamshire Hotel gig.

Stephen, is that for the number of previously unplayed tracks that you can't get anywhere else, or for the performance...?

For me it's the most recent one I like the best. It seems to be the first gig where Jarvis is genuinely warm and funny onstage!

It's for the previously unplayed tracks and I just think Magnus's drumming is incredible on that track. The horn that's blown on Silence, who blew that do you think? Also, who sings backing vocals on Take You Back? Any Ideas?

Tim maybe on Silence?

Re: backing vocals, could well be Manners. It seems he does the b/v on Anorexic Beauty in the '85 video (and this arrangement is remembered by someone who was at gigs at this time).

Wondered if it was Tim myself, though the absence of drums on the track could suggest Magnus. I'm kinda sure I've seen a pic of Magnus drum kit with a horn perched on or near it.

Mag played the keyboard on Silence. Tim did play the horn originally I think, but he'd left by this point and John Nicholls says it was Russell on Sudan Gerri so presumably that's also the case here.

I'd love to see a photo of that...

Jarvis' official site at the moment is probably asclose as you'll get!
