I'm sure I read on another thread that they got a replacemet violinist for this. Were they any good, was the song any good, should they have gone with the re-arranged post-Russell Krautrock/Motorik version?
I can't say I could really hear it from where I was standing . They played Common People straight in the This Is Hardcore era without violin at all and it seemed ok. They said somewhere that all their programs have been wiped & lost so they had to do everything again, so that krautrock version of CP would have to be done again from scratch.
The violinist from Cat's Eyes or someone from their string section filled-in. It's kind of strange that they went on playing CP for years after Russell left without any replacement violinist and yet now they're plucking one from another band at the festivals or the warm-up act like the other night!
It was pretty funny when Jarvis was introducing her though, because she was stood behind Candida and so Jarvis pointed to her and Candida played the 'common people' voice thing early
