If we have any mods at all...how is that spambots can register and post and yet some genuine posters have difficulties posting for the first few times?

Moderators have very limited powers, such as editing/deleting posts and banning ips. The administrator can answer queries on why genuine posters can't post, moderators don't have the detail to check that out.
