To be honest, I'm more enthusiastic about this than I was about the Pulp reunion. Oh my God! But I'm not too shure about this. Why would he reform Relaxed Muscle? That was a real one-off.

That would be amazing. If true. I'd like to read it from another source first, I think...

 Er...seriously?

It would be good for a laugh if it did happen, if a bit random. Maybe including that Time Out Darren Spooner article in Mother Brother Lover got him interested again.

Lol at the article for treating RM as a serious going-concern:

''The group has maintained a relatively low profile since their sole album release in 2003''.

I guess it has something to do with the dance company they're performing with -- Michael Clark's. Jarvis had him on his radio show where they talked about David Bowie stuff. That's the only connection I could find. Clark's in a month long residency at the same museum.

There was this event at the Tate last year as well, I remember seeing pictures of a posh launch party somewhere that Jarvis and Kim were at.

Weener, the Michael Clark dance troupe might sound hideous, but when they worked with the Fall in the late 80s, it was actually pretty bloody impressive!

Also ArrGee, if this does happen, I don't imagine there'll be any sort of tour. Very much a one-off at this venue, I would have thought. A normal band can play most places, but Relaxed Muscle - especially post unveiling of 'Darren' - don't really have that option...

I suppose we should just prepare ourselves for a very-short-notice (i.e. at 14:00 the day it is to be played) gig at a tiny venue in London or Paris, if anything.

I enjoyed their record very much and rank it in my top-3 of Jarvis related releases, next to This Is Hardcore and Further Complications.

Hopefully some footage will turn up this time. I remember watching a live performance of Mary and The Year of the Dog on the website of Trash Club London, but unfortunately only Mary made it unto youtube and videos on the website do not work anymore.

Sounds to me like they're just using the recorded music, not a live reunion!

Here's a review, enjoyed the music rather more than the dancing!

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/07/arts/dance/whos-zoo-by-michael-clark-at-the-whitney.html

And someone from the audience's twitpic! I think there are serious beard issues with this reunion.

Hahaha...I can't believe he got into character for it. Never mind Pulp reuniting as a six piece, whoever would have seen this coming?

And was Bowie really in attendance? Chameleon, corinthinan and caricatures all round then.

That blog is dated June 2011! Did anyone else on here know that Relaxed Muscle had performed at the Turbine Hall, London last year?

Well it's about the same date as this article that I posted below, but there seems to have been more to the day or days than was reported here, this mentioned using some Pulp songs but nothing about Relaxed Muscle.

one of my good friends was one of the MC dancers during the whitney engagement so i got daily jarvis text message updates.

she invited me to their open dress rehersal before the official relaxed muscle performances, but i was leaving town the next morning and couldn't find the time to make it down there.

the dancers came out last night at RCMH during feeling called love and did their routine, which was fun.
