I'm attending both Radio City shows and can't believe I'll finally get to see this band live. I've been looking around this forum and couldn't seem to find any discussion about what they've been playing since they've been back.
Is it really a wide spread from the entire catalog or can we expect most of the songs to be from His n Hers forward? Just really curious about what to expect. I don't really care what they play at all, I'll be elated just to be there at all but I wanted to get people's opinions on going both nights. Is it likely to be the same setlist or are they switching things up?
Hey guys, we could at least engage in a bit more discussion with our new forum friend!
Last year it was mainly different class songs, with the Gift-era singles, a few His'n'Hers songs (Pink Glove, Joyriders) and a token couple of songs from TIH and WWL. However, at the smaller gigs, such as the Australian tour or Brixton (or even Glastonbury) things got a little bit more interesting- Party Hard, Bad Cover Version, Countdown, His'n'Hers, A Little Soul, Wickerman (!!), Like a Friend. Someone on here even heard them soundchecking The Birds in Your Garden, though they never actually played it.
I'm sure there were even more songs they rehearsed which they then didn't play- I seem to remember a photo of a list of songs on their practice room wall? Where was that photo from/can anyone link me to it?
I'm hoping for a few different songs this year as they've had time to practice some new ones. However, as Russell isn't playing, I wouldn't expect them to do She's a Lady, sadly!
Didn't someone collate the number of occurrences of each song over the summer, I presume that was on here, I can't imagine where else I would have seen that, setlist.fm isn't that clever, is it?

That 'A' and 'B' list picture is like Pulp porn. I don't remember ever seeing it before. Though - That wire runs straight throught the word 'Countdown' in the most inappropiate place!
Hoping and praying that I get to hear Like a Friend in San Francisco
I never really understood why people seem to like this song so much..I mean I think it's quite nice and catchy but maybe a bit too sweet.?
I know a few friends (outside the UK) who got into Pulp coz of this song. It was brilliantly used in Ventures Bros. Season finale climactic montage.
Two things, I don't consider the song all that sweet "you are the cut that makes me hide my face", and The Venture Bros.?
That's a cartoon right? Is it a comedy? Which season did it climax?
I fell freshly in love with Under Presure by Bowie and Queen after I watched the first episode of season two of Dirty Sexy Money.
Good use of a song on a film or TV show can really take a song up to another level. Look at Lust For Life on Trainspotting for example.
EDIT: rather remarkably the entire episode of DSM is on Youtube if anyone's interested. It's a pretty clever episode , worth watching through to the end... but Under Pressure's right at the start.

I shall continue to live in hope. I noted they were supposed to play My Legendary Girlfriend at the Eden Project as well when I searched Pulp Wiki. Surprised that considering how important the song was in Pulp's early development that it hasn't been played too much since 1992.

Thanks Mike, that must be it. There is a strong correlation between the two lists, what they thought at the beginning in rehearsals and what ended up being played. All of the A-team got outings every time except for Underwear, which has a ? after it. So maybe there are still some worthwhile tips in the B-team. I have heard enough musicians talking about the need to throw in the odd song they really enjoy into their standard sets to keep themselves interested on tour. In that Cambridge Uni interview the other week, they extracted from Jarvis that his current favourite is Wickerman, which only appears on setlist.fm in the 2 Brixton shows, that's not even in the B-team as far as I can see there! I suppose they are also having to gauge what kind of fans they are playing to, a mixed festival audience that might quite like them or their own show where the fans could be expected to be keener and if they aren't, then what are they doing there, that's their problem!
So back to the original question, I hope this is some help for helooksdaft, as these are Pulp shows not festivals you are going to, there looks like room for a couple of surprises between the remaining unplayed B-list songs (what about 19b Little Girl) and a complete outsider.

Maybe their demise has come and they are no longer running the world!
Or maybe it's more of demand, like "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, out, out, out!".

When they played Brixton they said they'd only just tried out Wickerman a few few days previously which would account for it not being on the rehearsal lists
