Richard Hawley has a new album coming out in May. It's called "Standing at the Sky's Edge".

He did a really nice interview about it with Steve Lamacq a few weeks ago, available on his page of BBC Music:

Yeah, I heard that. Inspired by his dear friend Tim McCall. It will be interesting to hear the change in music on this one, all those strings suit his music so well but as we all know he's a fantastic guitarist too.

Despite the obvious Walker touches, I've never really been able to get into his solo stuff. Perhaps it's time to give it another go.

Lowedges, his second one, is still the best for me. Just great song-writing.

I've never seen the attraction of Hawley's solo stuff. I like what he says in interviews, and his whole aesthetic too, but his music doesn't appeal to me at all. I never liked The Longpigs, either.
