I think if it was a really popular/infamous message board, that would be a bit different, but I expect that very few people in the music press even know this board exists, or particularly care. The only band boards I've ever seen hit the news have been the Radiohead one when people were speculating about whether there'd be a "King of Limbs 2" (yawn), and the Morrissey board but only cause he releases statements to it/communicates via them. And those two message boards are probably the biggest band forums in the world, with hundreds of active users. The forum is pretty much on a par with the Felt forum really! But yeah, I still get the point, you have to be careful what you say.

Oh they know. But you're right, they probably dont care enough to watch it regularly.
NME or The Sun often take their info from Oasis messageboards, big or small, for instance, so i wouldnt rule out info from here getting picked up.
I was lucky enough to see the original post and I think that it should be restored. Dixie clearly detailed the conversation he had with this guy as opposed to just posting a message along the lines of "Someone in the know says that ### will be happening" and leaving it at that.
At the end of the day, forums are for fans to discuss things like this and I do not believe his message was spam or malicious so shouldn't have been censored, plus this board is unofficial meaning any messages posted should be treated as such. Steve has posted forum guidelines and I believe Dixie's original post was kept well within those guidelines.
I would re-hash it myself as a separate topic but cannot remember all the details.
