Yeah, I'm not sure what the point of dixie deleting his post was, when the following one and subsequent chatter show fairly clearly what we're talking about. The trixy/dixie thing was a joke, Andy's over-active mind filled in the gaps ;) It's all speculation as Mark say, just a bit more to go on than previously. Dixie, did the fella volunteer the information without you talking about the possibility beforehand i.e did he seem fairly sure of himself?
Incidentially Mark, was your chat with Mark related to any possible future book update/revisions?
I'm with Sturdy on this one. Until we hear anything official, there's no reason to get excited. And recording a new album would seem slightly out of character for the band, with regards to Jarvis' radio career/what all the other members are doing.
Hmm... I'd just like to point out that Jarvis has aged much more gracefully than Billy Corgan, plus SP reunion = Billy; Pulp reunion = Jarvis, Russell, Candida, Steve, Mark, Nick (even Richard briefly) - I'd have much more faith in Pulp delivering the goods on a new album. Not to badmouth SP, but Billy's just so bitter.. in interviews he was going on about Pavement for making fun of him 15 years ago!
My feelings are if Jarvis is going to continue making music, why not make it with the best musicians he has available? Still too soon to tell whats real or not...
I think you lot are slightly overestimating the importance of this forum. Even the very worst music website (something like NME.com) would NEVER report rumours where someone on a minor music forum (with only about 20 active users) says they heard something from a man at a pub. There is no need to shut down this thread, it's just speculation!!

It's not that, it's more that people are thinking there's more to this thread than there actually is! People keep wanting pm's for what is essentially a piece of non-news and as such this thread keeps being extended unnecessarily.
Will I just repost the original message? I think a mountain was made out of it and poor dixie probably won't post again.
All we have at the moment are a few Spring dates, which is exactly what Jarvis said they'd do before wrapping things up so it might be wise for everyone to hold fire.

I suppose it'd be for the best. All the info from the original post could be gleaned by reading all the subsiquent messages, and as many have said, there wasn't anything concrete anyway. And so many people seem sad at missing out...
Incidentally, the use of the word "echo" in the recent Pulp People email perhaps hints that we might be barking up the wrong tree... That this is a nostalgic recreation rather than Pulp-as-a-going-concern.
Too bad if that's the case, but if so, all the more reason to get out Stateside/Spain/wherever's next...
So far all that has been confirmed for spring are festivals mostly in USA so could this 'batch' be repeating what we had last summer but in America? And after that (this summer?) a tour or new material or whatever

the NME has many times reported fake news from various fan message boards, however small they were. So i wouldnt be surprised if they picked it up, unless they got some orders from Pulp camp, which i'm pretty sure happened...

Yes, do. I don't see the point of a forum where people discuss a PM.
I think there will be a bit more than the spring dates.
For the last time - there is nothing to get hopes up over - it was a pure speculative comment - its just a rumour, no different from what you have heard on here. Now can we cut the shit please?
Is there something about names ending in ixie which makes people have panic attacks on here? Everyone should calm down, unsubstantiated rumour is all we have right now. If the NME pick it up then that's their own stupid fault, they may as well make something up themselves. And if that's enough to put the band off recording then they're too sensitive to finish it in the first place.

No question I totally agree with you... btw http://forums.netphoria.org/ (4vhaterz)

I agree, but my experience in administering another forum is that you can get called a knob by the tour manager and accused of selling stories to the tabloids just for letting people vent and express honestly held opinions.
I know a lot of people lurk, but I don't understand why journalists would use a forum as a source when they can simply just make up any story they want anyway.
Anyway, rumours of a UK gig in late April should be taken with a pinch of salt. A bloke called Nick told me about it at his pub (joking, of course)

Because there's a "source" to back the story. They cant make up stories, there has to be someone behind what they write. Of course, a fan message board source isnt too reliable, but the british press isnt too picky about that.
