Whenever I've looked at the official Facebook page (which is not often as I don't do the whole Facebook thing), the thing that struck me most was that it seened to be swamped with very fervent Mexicans and assorted South Americans.

Here's a dream: I was travelling around a bit and in every city I went there was a big neon 'PULP' sign. I went out at night to take a photo of it, but  it changed into an announcement that Pulp would be touring (starting in Mozambique for some reason) and that tickets were now available online. I rushed inside to buy a ticket but my laptop wasn't working then I woke up, annoyed that there is no planned tour for 2012 yet.

Absolutely huge, to an extent you couldn't possibly contemplate. I find it one of life's little mysteries. He's just finished a tour of Mexico. Do you know of any other musicians who tours Mexico? Festivals yes but full on tours are almost unheard of. In Morrissey's own words:

"We had been over-cautioned so continuously about dangers in Mexico, yet we met nothing at all but great support and warmth. The audiences were the most loving (and loud) that I have ever experienced. Everywhere we went people were very gracious, and eager to help. It was a dream tour, and we all felt that we were resolutely home, burdened only by the practicalities of wondering how soon we could return. "

Sorry, I was being sarcastic, I think it would be a stretch to say he was popular among actual gang members in L.A. (though I'm sure they're out there). I actually recognized someone in that Passions Just Like Mine video (no gang members though, wink.gif)...

I'm sorry the whole Palacio de los Deportes thing was a hoax (cool venue), but there's no way I would go out there on my own anyway, even for Pulp!

I'm ressurecting this thread cos I've been having a lot of Pulp related dreams lately.

The first one was a going to a concert in this concert Hall somewhere in Europe, Paris or Berlin and I was seated. I was in row "S" but it was miles away from the stage and kept getting further and further away ( at one point there was a multistorey car park in the same building (!) Then got closer so I could just about see the band. Jarvis was dressed like he was in the early 90's and had the same haircut. There was an issue with a gold curtain, that wouldn't fully open so they could only play on half the stage, but the stage was huge anyway.  Mark's had something wrong with his left leg and it was bound up, but for some reason his guitar pedals were on the opposite side of stage to him, so he had to keep limping over to where Steve was to change effects and Jarvis was being really nasty to him about it.

Then Last night I had a dream where I was sitting in a tiny school room with a television screen with the member of the band watching a documentary about Pulp playing a gig outside an Egyptian temple -Abu Simbel, I think it was. I was sitting behind Jarvis and Russell and Russell broke my tea mug and I was very upset about this. Mark was sitting at the right at the back. He was drunk and wearing mauve nail varnish and kept trying to grab the remote control and I wasn't happy about this. Candida and Nick were on the other side of the room, oblivious to everyone else having an indepth coversation but I couldn't hear what they were saying, but Candida had very nice pigtails. Steve was asleep with his head on the desk behind Candida and Nick.

Then I woke up.

Pulp have made cameo appearances in my dreams a few times but I've only had one proper dream about them. I went to see them live and for some reason they had a signing before the show. I went up to who I thought was Steve and asked him to sign a book with his face on, but it turned out I was accidentally talking to Russell. He called me a bad fan and kicked me out of the arena and I left crying. The only good thing about Russell leaving is that the chances of this actually happening to me has gone from 0.005% to 0.001%.

Resurrecting this thread because I had a nap this afternoon and had a Pulp dream. Probably inspired by finishing "Good Pop, Bad Pop".

It was the 1980's. I was set next to Candida in a the back seat of a Saloon car heading down a lonely motorway at night. Russell was in the passengers seat and the car was being driven by Tim Allcard (?!) At one point Russell was playing the violin and Tim was playing the flute and both me and Candida were terrified as this meant that nobody was actually driving.

We pulled off at a petrol station near a bridge/flyover (underneath) and we all got out. There was an argument, but I don't know who started it. Candida got upset and walked toward the bridge and I followed her. She sat down, scrunched up with her head down on a sloping grass verge at the foot of the bridge and I sat next to her to try and comfort her.

Next thing I know I'm trying to hunt a Russian spy in an alternative reality version of New York, wearing a flat cap and one of the clues I find is Jarvis's plastic turtle. I'm chasing the spy through a zigzagging hedge maze and I wind up onstage at a medieval styled theme park where Japanese geishas were doing elaborate fan dances.

It could be my subconscious telling me my planned trip to Sheffield.

Or it could just be the cheese I had for lunch....

Resurrecting this thread because I had another dream.

The first half of the dream was about me exorcising a building. And a load of rabbis were involved which is odd because I'm not Jewish. That's not important. Anyway I was trapped in an office with a guy called Trevor and I was panicking because I was worried I would be late for a Pulp concert. Next thing I know I'm on a tram with Trevor trying to find this concert. then we were in a taxi driving too fast All we knew is that it was in an ice rink (this could point to Utilita but we already know about that) and it was really difficult to get to. There was a huge Russian orthodox church in the centre of this town and next to the church was an even bigger building.

It was by the sea. Or as very large body of water. Also while we were travelling there, it turns out I wasnt late, I was a year early.

Anyway this could point to one of two places, Clikimin - which as far as I can see doesn't have an ice rink (but my subconscious mind may have thought it did) but is hard to get to and is located near a large body of water, or Alexandra Palace which does have an ice rink but is not anywhere near a very large body of water and is relatively easy to get to.

I don't know anyone called Trevor.

Anyway, I'm just going to sit in a corner and quietly lose my mind. Again.

I had a dream a couple of years ago about there being a hidden track on CD2 of the "His n Hers" reissue. At the time, I thought that there may have actually been a hidden track so I listened from start to finish and tried doing a manual rewind like you can on "This is Hardcore" but found nothing. Obviously, if there was a hidden track on there, people would have found out by now. Strangely, I had a very similar dream the other night. I haven't bothered to search for hidden tracks this time round.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that it was 2003 and "After You" was released as a CD single. That's all well and good but then I went to buy it from HMV in Birmingham to be told that it was out of stock (I have only ever been to Birmingham twice in my life and it certainly wasn't in 2003).

I had a Pulp dream last night, they released two versions of the "Countdown 1992-1983" compilation. One was the normal version and the other had different songs and a red cover. I then discovered [in the dream] that it wasn't a Pulp release at all, it was Depeche Mode (they released two singles compilations in the 1990s, one with a blue cover and one with a red cover).

I had a Pulp dream last night. I went to see them at a newly built indoor stadium in London and managed to get backstage access because I knew one of the security guards who used to be a door supervisor in this area. They played "They Suffocate at Night" as part of the soundcheck then [this is where it gets strange] Jarvis, Mark, Nick and Candida made a Tiktok video of them dancing which Steve filmed on his phone. I then went to sit down then the rest of the audience started coming in... then my alarm went off.

Ok.

I'm a little reticent to resurrect this thread because the last time I posted about a dream I had, it was the 25th February.

I'm terrified of how these ones are going to manifest, but I've had two of them over consecutive nights so i'm guessing my subconscious is really pushing for me to make a record of them here.

The first one was kind of a manga/anime fight between circa 1998 Jarvis and circa 1998 Mark. Then I walked over to this massive sculpture that kind of looked like a giant white oil burner and it had a fountain on top where the bowl would be. Nick was underneath it, wearing a black flight jacket and I asked him if he was going to stop the fight and he said it was none of his business.

Nick also featured in a dream I had last night. I was standing on a quayside waiting for a boat to come in. Nick was on board with a bunch of other guys that I couldn't recognize. They needed my help on a quest to find an artifact that was going to save the world. The last thing I remember was sitting between Nick and one of the other guys in the back seat of a car. I had somehow regressed to a child - about 7 years old - and we were haring along some suburban backstreets and I think we were being chased. Then I ended up, restored to adulthood on a episode of Taskmaster where one of the contestants pointed at me and said "That's the woman we were paired up with earlier" despite me not having a clue who they were. I was handed a piece of paper that had my name on it but my name was "Bune Crackerskull....and a last name I couldn't read.

It was all very weird.

I had another one. This time it concerns Mark.

I was in this hotel/shopping mall type place that I have been before in my dreams. I was working on a computer in a huge, brightly lit room, not far from a large towering window. It was early evening and I had just got up from my console to stretch my legs. I walked into a vast carpeted hallway, with concessions on either side and running down the centre was a strip of various seating arrangements, sofas, armchairs, ranks of plastic seating, benches and myriads of people sitting on them and talking or doing stuff. Out of the corner of my eye I see Mark (a present day version) at the other end of the hallway, so i have to hide. He takes a seat on a sofa about three quarters of the way down the hallway, not too far from door of the computer room and near the base of an escalator. I know this to belong to a chiropody concession, so I presume he is there to have his feet seen to. I go back to my computer to try and work, but I'm now distracted and I keep peering round the door way of the computer room to see what's going on. At one point he is lying face down with his bare feet hooked over the side of the sofa. There is a streak of dirt running up the centre of his feet and radiating outward. Both feet are heavily calloused but the weird thing is, the callouses are over the dirt. I go back to work on the computer, but again I'm eaten with curiosity. This time when I look out, Mark is lying face up on the sofa, bundled with blankets and with an oxygen mask over his face. His eyes are closed but he's breathing, but he looks really sick. This time I try to get a closer look, so I sneak round the other side of the hallway, but there are a bank of plastic seats in my way and I can't get a closer look. I go back to the computer and do some more work, but I can't concentrate, so I go back into the hallway to find that Mark has gone and the chiropodist, who for some reason is dressed like a fantasy stereotype of a middle eastern souk merchant. is brushing himself down. I see Mark walking away up the hall towards the exit. I follow him up the other side of the hallway. At one point he looks over and I try to hide in the crowd. I'm not sure he's seen me, but there is a look of worry on his face. I follow him right to the exit, and watch him leave, but as I'm about to catch up with him, I get accosted by a group of nuns who, mistake me for an employee of the cookware shop near the exit and harangue me for help. I loose sight of Mark but agree to help the nuns, as being chef irl I know a thing about kitchen equipment.

I don't know what all of this means, and I did wake up a little worried and confused.

Mark, if you are reading this, (which I presuming you are), I think you need to book an appointment with a Doctor, or at least a chiropodist.

Anyway given I have so many dreams over the last few days, it's a possible that news, for good or ill is imminent, so be prepared.

I'm a middle school teacher and I have work dreams all the time. Last night in my usual angsty work dream, at least there were pictures of Jarvis all over my classroom. In my dream, my students had put actually them up. IRL, they like to argue with me that BTS is far superior to Pulp.

I think there is something about teaching thirteen-year-olds that won't let my brain rest at night.
