If there is a suggestion that Pulp may 'do something in the spring' do you think that Fire are holding up the reissues until some kind of announcement is made so they can maximise their selling of the old material?
Are Freaks and Seperations actually being reissued anymore? They seem to have just dissapeared from the face of the earth (ie. fire's website). That might be the case but I would imagine that they would get much more publicity and sales if they rereleased them now or even a few months ago when everybody knew they were touring and were (re)discovering them - whatever comes in the Spring I can't imagine it having as much press couvarae or attention than the summer festivals

Maybe, but it's more likely to be either legal or production delays. Remember when the reissues were originally slated for August they weren't even going to be remastered, never mind any bonus tracks. They've gone back to the drawing board since which is inevitably going to delay things a bit. I'm just guessing though!

If I remember correctly, last time I saw the Freaks track list before they removed it from the website, most if not all the tracks from Masters of the Universe had been added
I'm cautiously optimistic about remastering, as long as it isn't 'brickwalled' it should be ok. I happen to think that the deluxe editions of the Island albums sound pretty good compared to other remasters. One thing I've always noticed is how quiet my original Separations cd is. You have to turn it right up and then you get quite a lot of hiss.
Eamon, this is true but that doesn't mean he automatically learns everything new that happens, Stephen, I can't hear any difference between originals and remasters. Are my ears broken?
I wouldn't worry about it Dominic if you can't hear any difference. Alot of remasters tend to dial everything up so that there is very little dynamic range in the signal, it is often saif that this is done to sound good on mobile devices like iPods, phones etc. This has been going on since the 90's so you probably grew up with it? Definitely Maybe by Oasis was probably the first 'brickwalled' cd I heard. On another note, I always disliked the production and mastering on HnH, it felt thin and weedy to me but I think the remaster actually sounds better. An example of an appalling recent remaster are the Suede Deluxe editions. Just awful with brickwalling, clipping and distortion.
