Saw Marc Almond play last night. Absolutely sublime. His voice is still extraordinary and he has great stage presence and a wonderful band, including a transvestite harpist and accordion player. Very atmospheric on a stage dimly lit with standard lamps and table lamps. As well as his own compositions (including the wonderful Lavender), he covered Scott Walker, Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour, Juliette Greco, Marlene Dietrich, Edith Piaf, Sandy Denny, Bowie, Marc Bolan and Steve Harley. I think he's got a few more dates to play. Highly recommended.
