Well, yes and no. Pulp plays a big part in my life because they represent the underdogs kinda people that i kinda am too, but to be honest, when i started listening to them i didnt know what all that was all about. Being a french 15 year old boy and the level of english going with it, i couldnt really understand it all, but little by little, i did.
So i'd say Pulp is the band that represent me more, but my favorite band is Oasis, because Pulp could never happen in my life without Oasis. They were the one who brought english music here, broke the barriers, and paved the way for Pulp and Blur (which i also love). And thanks to Oasis, i met my wife and i built the character that made me what i am today.
So here is my (verys short) list
1. Oasis 2. Pulp 3. Fountains Of Wayne 4. Blur 5. Smashing Pumpkins
One of my favourites, although I'm not always in the mood to listen to them. When I was a teenager I only listened to 2 bands: Pulp and The Prodigy. That was all I needed. I tend to go through Pulp phases now, not quite as obsessed as I used to be. Loving The Kinks at the moment!
Alongside the Sheffield outfit, Portishead, Suede, Bowie, Blur & Radiohead complete my list of Galacticos. Thing about Pulp is, their career was so broad and varied that I can find something to suit any mood. For every 'Anorexic Beauty', there's a 'Got to have Love'...
