Pulp are closest to my heart, but The Smiths, James and Joy Division probably all tie with Pulp in how obsessively I listen to them and how much their music means to me.
Oh yes, indeed I did! It was stunning. I was quite sceptical at first about the idea of an orchestra and an all seated concert. But I was blown away, and I think I may have even shed a tear of two at some points - definitely major goosebumps. Where bouts did you go and see them? I was at the Royal Albert Hall.
Saw them at The Sage in Gateshead. It really was one of those shows that will stick in your mind forever - and just in case it doesn't I got Larry's setlist at the end!
Did i really just read that "Einsturzende Neubauten" was someones favourite combo? I saw them once at the Leadmill many years ago, noisy chuffs are'nt they? Are they still around?
I like Belle & Sebastian in small doses, they're just a bit too twee for me over an album's length of songs and fey (not Tina) live.
I think the twee thing is a common misconception- it's only really the Isobel Campbell songs and stuff like "I Love My Car" which is really twee. I like them cos I love 60s baroque pop like the Left Banke etc
