Jarvis' contribution to his tribute album really got me into Serge Gainsbourg; similarly, I explored Leonard Cohen's later synth-stuff on the back of a cover version of "I can't forget"and found some real gems.

So, the question is: has following Pulp or its members lead you guys to any interesting music you may not have listened to otherwise?

And furthermore, can you detect any influence?

The risque, almost spoken lyrics of Gainsbourg are my (fairly obvious) example. But the Sunday Service and other projects must be littered with them... And I must confess that I don't catch every minute/hour/episode.

The Trip has a ton of good stuff, but in particular, I had never checked out Dory Previn before I listened to the Trip and I recently decided to look into the album that features the Lady with the Braid and it was one of my better decisions.
Also Jarvis has played the Durutti Column on the Sunday Service before and I like them a lot too, but I only checked them out because he played them.

I've never listened to Sunday service. I've been largely disappointed with the albums I've bought off the back of the trip. Apart from the jack nietzsche sessions by Bob Lind which is mostly fantastic.
