I went to the same school as Neil Tennant, Sting and Dec from Ant and Dec. Did any of them ever come and give an inspirational talk? No, no they didn't. Although Neil Tennants talk would have been along the lines: "for those of you sitting here now who happen to be gay... Don't worry, you won't actually go to hell, just ignore the teachers when they say that."
"The youngsters were treated to an hour-long presentation capturing the excitement of the young performer's teenage years, including home movies, photos, lyrics and some of Jarviss earliest songs.
Long-forgotten efforts Shakespeare Rock and Life Is A Circle were unearthed, with a full acoustic version of Pulp's breakthrough number, Babies."
Brilliant! Did the kids know what they were getting? Do you reckon he showed the Shakespeare Rock film? And what's this about "Life Is A Circle"?

Fuckin A! Well... potentially A. Did they experience the horror of the old lower school? Or did they time it nicely and get into the new lower school this year?
Fran, I tend to agree actually. I'm all for the man pushing more cultural and artistic events, it was the audience he was doing it for that most got up my nose. Not the work, or the comission but the audience at that party. The ad is ok but fails in its purpose for me. I just don't know what it's advertising and who those two other blokes are and what they represent etc.
Yes I know what you mean, I wasn't standing up for the ad itself. If we care, according to something I read, the other two are apparently a famous French bloke and a famous Belgian who isn't Tintin, Hercule Poirot or even Plastique Bertrand. So it's meant to represent Eurostar's destination countries I think. But I imagine people in all 3 countries are going "Who are those other two?"
As for the people supping the wine, their loss really if they can't be bothered to pay attention, and spot the Boxettes in the background too. I remember Jarvis playing something by a group of female beat-boxers on the radio the other week, said they had been doing backing vocals for them this summer somewhere. So I looked up the tracklist and found their website http://www.theboxettes.co.uk/.

aanyway Fred, funny you should say that none of them came back because turns out Ant and Dec were doing the prize giving yesterday. They're all going back to school this week!
giving out prizes to people that have stood out in a subject (usually, and rather disapointingly, it's a textbook and a certificate but sometimes you get vouchers or maybe free music lessons etc.) course now everything has become so ridiculous thatin some places there is a law that everyone has to get a prize, thus defeating the whole purpose of congratulating hard working students who deserve to be recognised, and so there are prize for having no detentions and other pathetic things that should be normal not celebrated.
