Do the Les Inrockuptibles concerts count as radio sessions? if so then count the La Cigale 91 Les Inrock gig. I havn't heard the second Hit The North session, and would like to hear it. Don't suppose it's flac is it? Don't know what else you have from this period. I have a recording of the Les Inrock show from 1993 at Rennes.
As well as what you have, I've got the other two Black Sessions (15.03.1992 & 30.08.1995), a Europe 1, Le Top (13.11.1995) and the John Peel Show from 12.08.2001
All are listed here http://www.pulpwiki.net/Pulp/Radio as I'm too lazy to type out the track listings.
I'd personally count anything on that wiki list as fair game to call 'Radio Sessions' :)
I have a lossless 94 Black Session as well. Is ther a lossless version of the 92 session out there? I agree about fair game so why not include the 93 Sound City gig. I've just got an upgrade of that.
Oh, I was mainly thinking of sessions done specifically for radio, rather than gigs that happened to be broadcast by radio, as much as I love '93 Sound City!
2nd Hit the North is a scorcher. I think I've had a copy for about 13 years now! Used to listen to it at Uni. Good lot of banter with Marc Riley therein.
I'd love to hear the March '92 Black Session though. Is that online anywhere...?
None of my recordings are FLAC. If I get anything as Flac I convert it to mp3 and wipe the original. Life's too short and my hardrive's too small! Plus I can't play the buggers...
You wipe FLAC. I only mention the Les Inrock cos strictly speaking the Black Session is a live show with an audience. All those 91-93 radio sessions are extant. Here is a link to the Black Session 92, I've never found it in particularly good quality, great session though
I'm at this moment oploading the 1993 Hit the north (as mp3) but megaupload is really slow, already taking a half hour and still 10 minutes to go. will post link when ready
I also have a 1994 Great London Radio session, where they play Joyriders and Dogs are everywhere. The same versions as on Common people cdsingle, but including 2 interview parts so I'll upload that as well.
Hey, may be a good place to ask rather than starting a new thread. I really enjoyed Countdown live at Brixton. Where would you recommend looking to find the closest sounding to this best quality live version? A radio session/bootleg? The recorded version sounds very different. Thanks in advance!!
Zaqx, try the version of Countdown that appeared on the single. It's generally called the 'single edit' and should be 4:42 in length. It has all the lovely Russell guitar all over it.
The Toulouse gig from earlier this year also has a cracking version with the sexy guitars, too.
