Ask why no American tour and if they will be doing one next year, or at least Coachella.

Pretty sure it's sold out.

I work at the Town Hall.

You'd think working somewhere would mean you would be informed of what goes on there. But no... I found out from my girlfriend...

I now see that it is sold out. I don't have tickets either. I will find a way. Who promotes this festival thing anyway?

For those going, doors open 6pm, starts 7pm. There should be a bar outside the Great Hall.

This had sold out before I even heard about it. Whereas, tickets for the Cheltenham event were available right up to the day, I think. Smaller venue? Lots of Jarvis/Pulp fans in Manchester?

Anyway, have a good time Pip and anyone else on here who's going.

If anyone goes to this, someone ask Jarvis of the positibility of a demo session release similar to Shed Seven's One Hand Clapping.

Well that was interesting... started a little after 7pm - Jarvis was going to do a quick Powerpoint presentation about something or other but had technical difficulties (he's not great with computers) and sadly had to abandon it. Shame really, I'm sure there must have been someone who knew how to fix the problem - me, for one - but ah well.

The chat was alright, if a bit all over the place at times - would have been nicer to have had a more structured conversation about his life. I'll leave others to recall bits of what he said. He stayed behind the sign copies of the book afterwards (full RRP, ouch); we were right near the back of the queue, and it took over an hour for us to reach him, but this was a good thing in the end as everyone had left and we were able to get photos with him. He seemed to be writing messages depending on the topic of conversation; when I mentioned my girlfriend had him to thank for bringing us together - we met at one of his gigs - he wrote 'Well Done' in our book :D

A friend asked him about his plans for Pulp - he said the group will be getting together soon to talk about what to do, but during the talk he did mention there were to be a "couple" of shows in the Spring... it's hard to know what to think - he kept referring to the band in the past and present tense, which didn't help... we'll just have to see...

(but he definitely said that's probably going to be it, after whatever happens in the Spring, so the end is nigh...)

Thanks. Did he specify where these shows might be (America, etc)?

No mention of any locations - to be honest it sounds like they haven't planned anything yet, if they've yet to regroup for discussions...

ugh. why? why go through all the trouble of launching this huge (and very successful) reunion tour just to break up a year later? ugh.

Good summary, Pip! A few too many Morrisey related questions for my liking, but other than the political crap, t'was pretty good. Meeting Jarvis in person was amazing. What a warm, friendly man! And yeah, 'couple of gigs to come' and 'ending in Rotherham has a certain appeal' he said to a friend.

Did he really say that about Rotherham? Another Auto festival would be brilliant!

WAY too many Morrissey related questions which had no bearing on anything. Getting a Pulp fan instead of a Smiths fan to conduct the interview might have been a bright idea.... Overall, nothing ground-breakingly new or of interest, but a fairly decent night nonetheless.
