A new pulp album would have been nice, but I'm happy with the solo stuff.

Still holding out for his third album which I think should be called Dance Jarvis! Dance!

That's right, I want a dance album.

I never thought it'd lead to them recording together again, but I expected a Yorkshire send-off, perhaps like Auto. Could still happen but it looks doubtful after this tweet.
I like the idea of that solo album though..

Sounds like thats it for now. Gutted as I was really hoping to see them again soon. Judging by Jarvis's comments at the last couple of gigs it sounds like they are finished for now but are open to the idea of returning again. Was really hoping for a headline slot for them at Glastonbury in 2013 but maybe thats too soon now. It would be a bummer if they decided to totally finish without informing fans that they were gonna be the last gigs as people would have went the extra mile if they werent gonna see them again. They will be back, I am pretty certain, but it might be another 4 or 5 years. What a great summer though.

It's been a hell of a summer. Gutted I had to miss all last week's action but I'll never forget Glasto and Wireless. I think that'll be it for a few years but don't think it's over for good, perhaps they'll reform every now and then, and I still think Glasto 2013 might be on the cards after what Jarvis said this year. At least this time around they're finishing in a blaze of glory, but finishing with a show at Electric Picnic just doesn't seem right to me (no offence to anyone who went, I"m probably just jealous...)

Not sure why that tweet indicates the end.  Wouldn't surprise me if they had a stupendous winter planned.

Aside from the name, I totally agree.

oh. and this doesn't make it better.

NME:

" Pulp ended their summer reunion tour at Ireland's Electric Picnic festival last night (September 4) with Jarvis Cocker hinting that the 90-minute set may have been their last ever gig.

Before launching into set closer 'Common People', Cocker declared: "This may be the last time we're ever all on stage together again." Earlier in the set the Pulp frontman had told the 30,000-strong crowd in Stradbally, Co Laois, that: "This is the last gig of the tour, so if we start crying or get emotional, you'll understand."

However, his last words to the crowd as the band left the stage hinted that the band may yet return, with Cocker saying: "Maybe our paths will cross again." "

:(

Yes, it's also on their facebook page. Surely the rapturous response they've received from critics (Evening Standard excepted) and fans might persuade them to come back? Very interesting that they've done this reunion with very little in the way of interviews and no publicity photos other than the actual performances. I keep hoping that they might be tempted to make one more appearance on Later.

His last words are very similar to his last words at Auto aren't they?

I don't think it's as definitive as all that. I think more comments would have been made at Brixton.

The only thing that worries me is that Russell joined in on the last Brixton song - Wickerman. Can't imagine he'd have done that for many reasons other than 'this is the last time'...

My bones pretty much told me that was the last as I walked away from Thursday's gig. It's not simply what was said, but the way it was said. I doubt that much emotion would have gone into leaving the stage if they were planning to return with a proper tour in the near future.

Agreed: full scale tour, perhaps not - at least not on this scale - but the odd festival or Magnaesque appearance feels likely. I don't think they'll be strangers in the same way they have been.

I suppose that is a possibility - nothing planned, but not necessarily completely ruled out for ever more. I could live with just a tiny shred of hope for the time being!

On the mend, thanks. I managed to avoid serious damage by hopping up and down to keep them off the floor for as much time as possible. Or was that just me dancing? Similar sort of style (I am no Jarvis when it comes to the moves).

Thomas, it's just 2 exclamations: "Dance Jarvis! Dance!" See? Better already. Bit of a Spaced reference too.

Much grateful for this wonderful summer. It's just painful to believe if it does mean the end. I'm really down after their finishing Electric Picnic, feel like something important was lost:(
Well, still keeping the hope.
