Don't you think Pulp should remake Common People?

The song is pretty bad produced, and it's no real "power" in it, sounds so much better live, I can barely hear the tones on the original version.

Especially at 1:43 there's no really power like it is in the song live.

Or what do you think?

I do not think it is a good idea, the production on DCis simply awesome
Remake of classics is not always a good choice for artists. Times change, not the songs.

I say leave it as it is. I mean, can anyone name an artist that has released a remake that is better than the original?

If you want a more Candida-riffic "Common People," just listen to the Peel Sessions version!

Some might say that the newer version from Babies is better.

I could never really tell the difference between the two versions of Babies, in fact I had to be told by a friend that they WERE different.

Are they actually different? Isn't the Island one just a glossier remix?

Pretty sure the 2nd version of Babies is a remix, not re-recording.

Yes actually, according to Pulp wiki, I'm right: "The version that appears on His 'n' Hers and the Sisters EP was slightly remixed at West Side Studios, London (8 to 11 February 1994)"

Also- remake Common People?! The fuck?? Pulp definitely suffered from bad production over the years, but that's one of their best produced songs!
