Apologies if this ones been done, didn't know how to check without wading through the pages.
Has anyone bought any albums off the back of this compilation?
Did you make any good discoveries or where any albums a disapointment?
I bought two Bob Lind albums Jack Nitzche sessions and since there were circles - loved the former (esp. Mr. Zero, go ask your man, roads of anger, it wasn't just the morning), couldn't get into circles.
Got a Johnny Wakelin compilation called champ but it was awfull, re-recorded songs and some new all about boxing - re-recorded version of In Zaire is very inferior.
Dory Previn - Mythical Kings/Mud Puddle - two albums on one disc, lyrics just didn't seem to live up to lady with the braid, found it a bit annoying, good reviews on amazon though.
Got a Neil Sedaka comp, some really twee pop songs - nothing like Going Nowhere - might need to dig deeper for him.
I'd love to say that I did but I haven't. My CDs have been in storage for the last 4 years until last week. Picked The Trip up though. I love the Human League covering Rock n' Roll, In Zaire, Don't Think Twice It's Alright. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head but it's a great selection.
4 years? What's the story there?
Should I give the Dory Previn albums another listen? I have this terrible habit of buying more albums than I can possibly listen to properly and many fall by the wayside.
I've got the album, but I haven't listened to it more than 3 times. It's alright as a compilation, but the songs aren't that much in my opinion. I have investigated Nick Cave since, but not because of the The Trip and I've listened to some Add 'N' to X.

Alan Vega for me which then went onto investigating Suicide. Jarvis' Sunday Service has also led to many discoveries - especially the episode Candida and Richard hosted - cue The Chills and The Beach Boys 'Sail on Sailor'. Fantastic!
