Well Pye, hope you enjoy yourself with your pass! biggrin

You could try to ask for Ansaphone, but it's never been played live, so it's a long shot.  But, never say never!

cheers!- ill let you know how it goes!

I know its a mahoosive long shot, and i doubt they would play it if i was lucky enough to even ask. i wonder why they never have though, its such a good song

pye - If you are lucky enough to meet any of the band, could you also try persuading them to come down and meet the crowd after Brixton :P good luck - you're right, ansaphone never got the publicity it deserved

Myself & some friends are going to be watching it as part of a gathering, and presently thinking about making it a drinking game....

(Seriously. As some/I will insist on watching, others will find it a bit dull)

Can anyone help with rules, which I've been charged with developing?

So far, I've got

- Long, long mid-song pauses before the "climax" of a song / chorus...

- Mother/Brother/Lover/Other rhyming fun

- Falling over

- Sharp words from Cocker to a band member/stagehand

- Premature chants for Common People

- "Jarvis! (clapclapclap) Jarvis!"

- Obscure (for purposes of the rules, pre His'n'Hers) material

- Removal of clothing

- Joke failing to register with the (local, not at gig) audience

- Senior arriving/departing the stage

- "Do You Remember The First Time?" asked of the audience

And that's it. Actually, Christ... we're going to be wasted.

- Jarvis mentioning someone who was born/died on this day (or something that happened).

For someone with a bad memory when it comes to dates from Pulp's past I'm surprised he gives so much time to ''commemorations'' on his radio show and now increasingl during Pulp shows.

Eamonn, doesn't Jarvis just read them off bits of paper taped to the stage?

Oh yeah, I suppose he does. The ''importance'' of talking about commemorations rather than remembering them, then is still a little bemusing.

Looking at a couple of different tv listings for tomorrow and fingers crossed it's the whole set that's televised, it does seem that way. Coverage from Leeds would have been better as it's oop north and their last UK festival date (with presumably a longer set than at Reading) but shouldn't complain. Following the coverage of Pulp on BBC3 they will only be showing bits of The Strokes headlining along with Jane's Addiction.

I was browsing this weeks NME yesterday and it was amusing seeing them try to make a ''The Strokes v Pulp'' battle out of the weekend (asking other artists who they prefer of the two, and the preview for next week's magazine a heavyweight boxing bill pastiche á la akin to what they did for the Blur v Oasis clash sixteen years ago).
I've always liked The Strokes even though all their albums after the first one have been hit and miss affairs. Casablancas' solo album is really interesting. His embracing of synths and knack for writing a melody in particular.

I remember being appalled at Pulp having to play beneath them at Leeds last time.

Ste, another one for the drinking game, but this will make you VERY drunk:

- Mark walks across the stage. If he gets as far as Steve, finish your drink.

I'm hoping that with the Reading set being on TV that this means they will completely change the set for Brixton next week! I like the concept of your drinking game! BTW cutcopy - I have been attempting to upload Story of CP to rapidshare but it keeps getting stuck half way. I will keep trying until it works though

That's what I thought.  He's sat down with the guitar on his lap on Sunrise too!  I only noticed him on Sunrise.
