At the shops yesterday and the latest edition of Uncut magazine has quite a nice write up of Pulp at Hyde Park - Wireless Festival. Will scan through if anyone wants it? Got The Doors on the front cover and Jarvis in the corner.

Also a question, they haven't really done any press for these reunion shows, apart from that initial Steve Lamacq interview before Toulouse. No new photos of the band all together etc.

I'd love to see a scan!

I was wondering the same thing about recent press/photos.  Acrylic Afternoons has what looks like a recent studio shot of the band, wonder if there are any wider shots available?

Where? If you are taking about the front page, that's from the "Hits" CD.

Wow...yeah, I've been in the equivalent of a music cave for the last 10 years, sorry!  I only got the Hits CD last year when I was in London, and I never actually looked at the booklet before today confuse.gif.  I'm almost afraid to ask (another dumb question), but are there any other photos from this shoot?  Can't believe it was 9 years ago, they all look exactly the same.

I don't have the Hits CD (who does!) but am confused as to why there seems to be a vaguely up to date photo of Russell taken from there. Did he join the rest of his former comrades for a photoshoot...?

Oh, how lovely! What brought that on? Had he had some say over the tracklist or something, or did they think it might get the column inches that it, erm, didn't...?

No, just that he was in the band for the majority of the songs on the Hits album and things were generally amicable between them after the split, (allowing for Russell's strong opinions on certain things)...so a photo-call wouldn't have been a big deal.

I like the way he's represented as the dark shadowy figure on the cover artwork I must say amidst his, er, cactusy looking colleagues.

I knew he was represented on the cover. Just hadn't realised it was taken from a photo shoot. Maybe I'll have to get a copy next time I see it. Im surprised that his relations with the band stayed that cordial, though. He didnt half used to kick off in interviews in the couple of years after his departure!

He probably would have ''kicked-off'' more had he not been asked to do it!

Opinionated but always with an intelligent point. The man's a legend.
Anyone have any idea if he's finished that novel he was working on? Can't we get an exclusive Sturdy/Senior Frost/Nixon interview commissioned for the forum?

Hi there. I'm new and I'm too shy to create a new thread. Not sure if you're aware of this but Pulp were featured in a Mexican music magazine, Marvin.  I don't live in Mexico and I'm not familiar with Marvin.

Jarvis cover ---> http://www.marvin.com.mx/images/content/Portada.jpg

The article is available online but it's in Spanish. They're on page 41 (39 on the print version)

The mag also featured them on its website

This is kind of a superficial remark, but I have to say looking at some of the pictures above the band really looks great for their age. The prospect of a balding Russell or 350 lb. Steve would be a pretty frightening affair. :)

Also, I read somewhere (jeez - was it on here?) that the band decided not to do any real press for the reunion - the Lamacq show apparently being the one obvious exception - so that would explain the sort of media vacuum in regards to new interviews/photo shoots, ect.
