Eh, where's your post gone Sleeve? I was just about to start droning on about what a great night I had at that one!

Whoops! I messed up when editing and went off somewhere. Apologies! To start again, was anyone here at the gig. Met a few nice people and was a very good, intriguing, intimate performance...

It was good. I met up with a few people off the Lipgloss list at the Holyrood Tavern beforehand then we jumped in a taxi to the venue... absolutely packed, just about managed to get a drink at the bar before getting into position. It seemed like a really big deal to see Pulp debut a whole batch of new stuff - strangely it already felt like ages since Hardcore even though it had only been 18 months or something.

The blinds meant I (and probably lots of others) didn't instantly twig that they'd started playing when the strains of Roald Dahl started drifting out - it seemed to blend almost seamlessly with whatever the intro music was. The muddy sound was a bit of a disappointment - Iain Rankin must have had a better vantage point as the Flux recording sounds much clearer than it was to my ears on the night. The blinds weren't popular either, but what a moment when they were raised! (You can hear the cheer halfway through Sunrise on the recording). And then Blue Girls in the second half... talk about a welcome surprise. And yes, Jarv and Steve's DJ set afterwards was fun, Groovin with Mr Bloe being a particular highlight!
